Now now, let's not pretend you're generous all of sudden. There's banter and then there is just fairy tales. Razz

I keep buying paradox games and then never playing them. I just bought Stellaris but if I have to wait 4 months for DLCs to improve the game, I don't know if there is any point in buying this game either.

Well what you could do is: Not buy it until you're satisfied with the content they deliver. There will be a release seconds after their launch (heck, or even before ). So if you are jonesing to play you can play that.

I said it before, I usually get about 30/50 hours out of their newly released games. They lack things or aren't as fleshed out as I want it to be but then comes DLC to make it into hundred of hours. If you are okay with that get it.
Still... if you are in doubt and you mostly play the waiting game: ISODemo .

Had a quick glance at the IND store and the field marshal edition is listed as 1,729 or something, so about £17.62 roughly.

Question: in previous HoI games, was it possible to start with a smaller country and become a huge empire by the end of the campaign? I loved doing that in EU.

You could start, yes, but without mods to extend the timeline becoming a major player would be practically impossible for some.

Yup, wasn't easy though and like Inz said you needed to extend the timeline with mods. HoI IV you can keep on playing without mods. Though if I remember correctly: leaders don't die so you could end up with for example: Hitler being a thousand year old (well... could always imagine him getting his hands on the holy grail after all Razz)

The focus was on the main powers. and you had a really hard time even with the likes of Italy and France. Smaller ones were virtually unplayable unless you exploited things. You basically had two ways of doing it. Conquer China or conquer USA early in the game, and then use their numerical advantage to do the rest. In the end that's basically the same as playing China or USA, so there isn't a much of variety that way.
It was main reason that I didn't spend a lot of time in HOI3.

Official Wiki is alive.
http://www.hoi4wiki.com/Hearts_of_Iron_4_Wiki

Interesting part from the latest devdiary:

Quote:
...its possible to open links directly from the game in it. The browser can be set up to use your regular external one if you like also, which is pretty nice if you have multiple screens. For people on trains or otherwise disconnected from the internet - the game ships with an offline version of the wiki as well you can decide to use instead.

I've bought all the HoI games - though I consider them all more or less unplayable.

I intend to buy this as well.

Something is clearly wrong with me, but I'm in love with the concept - what can I say.
