What goes around comes around. If you build your game around that cancerous community, of course you gonna suffer some headache.

The price you pay when creating games for consoles.
Ah well, idiots...

Meh, I have little sympathy for the devs. They made the fatal error of overhyping their game and then pushing it back and back and back. The way the hype worked, it should have been released several months ago at the peak of the hype. For a game that will end up being a disappointment (my guess but it's a calculated one) the devs sure know how to throw oil on the fire.

Usually turns out to be children on the interwebs. The filth some of the 10 year olds spout... I'd slap my kid if he acted like that (in before a Swede starts whining about abuse again ).

That's the thing, different strokes and all that.
To me it just appeals because the vastness of the universe, exploring and the graphical style. I'm a space enthusiast so it has a bit of an easier time to interest me
But yeah I agree, I don't think the price is warranted (pretty much paying for the sony marketing), the hype machine is way to absurd for what they have.

There's death threats and then there's death threats. Some little oik screaming 'I'll kill you' on the internet isn't a death threat, it's a little shit with anger issues and the killing power of a constipated slug. Surely you can't take every mention of it as a serious threat, when it obviously isn't.

The concept and graphical style are very nice.
The delay, I don't care.
No multiplayer? Next game please!

Is killing the developer going to get the game out sooner or later?

Wait, there was an official date set and they broke it a few times now?
Or is it just rumours? Also, do they want the game to come out earlier but not ready? The shitstorm will be immense if it's buggy for example.
I usually want games to be delayed if they're going to come out in a better shape. Fuuck, sometimes I don't start a serious playthrough unless a couple of patches are out, especially with RPGs or very resource-intensive games.

It's rare that I play games on release compared to my earlier gaming days. For the reasons: DLC's, Expansions, Game of the year additions, Season Pass,... and the buggy state they release in.
Its almost always better to wait and experience the full/working game. Only my hype gets in the ways at times... but for RPG's I usually stick to it. If I'm going to invest 50+ hours into a game I rather not take chances

It was officially due to come out at the end of June. Now it is officially due to come out in mid-August, assuming no further delays. I don't know if it was pushed back previously (at least publicly/officially).

How much you want to bet the delay had something to do with this?

Quote: | No Man's Sky, the hotly anticipated adventure game due out this summer, won't suffer a last-minute name change. Hello Games founder Sean Murray tweeted last night that the company had just settled with Sky, the UK's largest pay-TV broadcaster.
Murray didn't state what the terms of the settlement are, but apparently the legal battle has been plaguing Hello for years |

I rage a lot when I see things like this. For fuck's sake, Sky ain't some strange, uncommon name that could be owned / trademaked. Most people see it every day and use it quite often. Hell, they should sue every weather forecast programme in British, US or any other English-speaking TV...

wait...what?...so if there is a company "Land" then they can demand removing "land" from no man's land novel\game or whatever ? Same logic....What an utter nonsense... I swear somebody should make these motherfuckers(in general, especially the ones who came up with these laws) pay in blood.. ..

Quote: | Hello, Sean here, working super, super hard on No Man’s Sky.
Every day, the game is getting better and better, and despite all the late nights (and early mornings) we’re all working to get it finished and in your hands, it’s amazing to see it all coming together.
You might already know this, but we had to delay the game from its original June release date. It’s now August 9 in north America, and August 10 in Europe. We knew that people would be disappointed, and we’ve certainly heard a lot from some who decided to tell us all about that. But we’ve also heard some super nice words of support as we make the final push.
I’ve said it before, but No Man’s Sky is the hardest thing I’ve ever worked on. It’s even bigger than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.
And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.
So that’s what we’re doing right now, and every day I feel more sure it was the right decision. Thank you so much for your support and patience. The universe will be yours very soon. |
