I'd rather buy it, I tried the ISO a while ago of GTA and decided to stop and buy the game in the future instead. The JC3 reviews aren't that good on Steam but the gifs look great and the reviews are mostly complaining about online accounts so well, I don't know
If you like storydriven games then go with GTA as JC3 has an almost non existing story, its based on 13 or 15 missions (?) which are all blowing stuff up !
It looks nice but gameplay is to repeditive over time and this makes it boring (IMO), where GTA has loads of modding capabilities to improve the gameplay to your needs.
I installed Reloaded's 1.33 update on another machine (dual-core G3420, 8 GB DDR3-1600, GTX 750-Ti) to test these improvements. Previously it was just the base Reloaded release, not running great, too much frame rate fluctuation and I have to tune down post-processing, disable long shadows etc. I also deinstalled Social Club after 1.33 upgrade to check if it's really not necessary anymore.
I don't know if it's because of the optimization done by Rockstar meanwhile, or because of anti-tampering removal, but now it runs MUCH better, FPS is stable and GFX settings are pretty much maxed out (except textures which are set to medium because of 2 GB VRAM, and antialiasing set to FXAA without MSAA, and maybe something else, I forgot).
I can't/won't test it on my machine because I have legit version and an i5 CPU, but in any case, this 1.33 Reloaded release really helps on low-end machines.
GTA5Redux promises to be the best graphical mod for Grand Theft Auto V
Quote:
Josh Romito has released a new set of screenshots for his upcoming graphics overhaul mod for Grand Theft Auto V. GTA5Redux will feature brand new, 4k, fire, explosion, smoke, particle effects, and new debris textures. In addition, this mod will sport newly worked physics and explosive reactions, as well as an entirely overhauled weapon system.
So I wanted to compare performance of a legit version against the newest RLD version. Unfortunately I dont own the game.
Steam let me family share it, but forgot to tell me that this is just stupid because apparently you don't get around rockstars drm social club. Thanks steam.
And thanks to Spykez who made this pointless endeavor possible. You are awesome
I figure there is nothing else to compare RLDs version to, since all other non-cracks cracks appear to be quite out of date making for an apples-oranges comparison. Or would a 3DM v5-fix vs RLD comparison still do any good?

No, performance improved over time, you need v1.33 legit and cracked like i do and i come now to the conclusion, RLD is better performance wise. No more loading stutters here and then.
Nice or rather sad (?) to hear to actually do have an apparently significant performance improvement.
Still I would really have some hard data on this. If I can I would try to arrange for some consistent benchmark (cut scene, or multiple runs) and log the frame times. Now obviously I cannot ask that of you, because this would actually be some work
Thanks to Spykez I found the DRM with the steam version is even more annoying. It requires steam (d'uh), then it also requires the social club. But since 2 individual DRMs aren't enough, you even need to use matching steam and social club accounts. Is this paranoid or just a simple consequence of drm loving publishers? Dammit. Soon I'll have to compensate Spykez for his time

Now, realize your goal to become the ultimate kingpin of Los Santos and Blaine County.

And run the town, one hostile takeover at a time.
Watch the official trailer above and get ready for GTA Online: Further Adventures in Finance and Felony coming next week Tuesday June 7.
Looking forward to it. The VIP missions can be fun when people in the session randomly get involved. It's hilarious making someone drop a briefcase in the ocean and then watch 10 people scramble to pick it up out of the water while fighting off others and the police.
The only thing that worries me is wondering how the modders/cheaters will interfere.
Still a shame they don't release any Singleplayer DLC (yet).
GTA Online was fun the first days, but got annoying quickly. Thanks to the cheaters, kids and absolutely terrible matchmaking with even worse loading times.

Indeed, I completely agree.
I don't know how it's possible, but every damn time I play I see cheaters doing the most retarded things and fucking up the game for everyone else...
