I played loads of Genji in the beta, was good with him, too. But at higher skill levels he will drop off immensely for two main reasons:
1. Reflect - this works great against noobs, but it is super simple to spot and super simple to counter. Countering will become easy with experience.
2. His basic attack has huge damage potential, especially if you learn to land headshots, but it is not hitscan. Hitscan combined with well enough aim is more reliable than prediction vs. a well moving enemy. Already bunny hopping is very effective vs. Genji, because you miss out on headshots (as predicting hops is too much of a risk). It is easier to juke shots with good movement than it is to land shots.

I'm pretty good with shooters. The more twitch, the better I am. I started out playing a ton of Tracer then a ton of Genji then back to Tracer. Once I learned how to play Genji well enough, as Tracer it was infinitely easier to counter. To the point that I never lost vs. Genjis. Obviously I like and will play Genji most, because he is the hardest (and thus the only one worthy of my time - unless the team requires something else), but he will have a hard life once the meta sets in, and the problem is, you can't buff him without breaking him on the noob/casual level.
