Looks like they've partnered with AMD (As usual.) and the game will make use of DirectX 12, might help with the CPU performance.
Or will artificially run like ass on NVidia cards for the first couple of months just like it was with Shogun 2 only so that they'll "patch it out" and all NVidia cards will magically outperform them afterwards. Good times
THE GOOD
The Warhammer Universe meshes naturally with Total War's gameplay
New races and creatures provide radically different strategic and tactical options
Massive AI improvements
Stellar audio design
With the most exciting unit roster yet, Creative Assembly's latest is a godly blend of franchises.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Most of our time was on a machine featuring an i7-4790 and a GTX 980TI, and as you’d expect, performance was quite solid here, with 60FPS or better throughout our campaigns on ultra settings at 1080. We did manage to tax the machine a bit with 4v4 custom battles, requiring us to drop settings to high or lower for acceptable performance, but you’ve got to go out of your way to offer a challenge to a high-end computer.
More midrange computers may struggle, however. An i5 2500 with a GTX 960 struggled to maintain 30FPS at the recommended high settings, and no amount of adjustment could get us to a steady 60.

This doesn't sound too good.
Hopefully by the time someone releases a Denevo loader for it, I'll have a 1080.
Quick question to those with experience in this area: is the price of cd keys more likely to rise or drop until release? Right now it's at ~36 eur at allkeyshop, wondering whether to buy now or later.

I don't know about price changes near/right after release, but you can always postpone buying the game until 31st May -- if like me, your reason for wanting to buy it right about now is the "free" Chaos race.
Although as I mused about it earlier today, it might be possible to simply unlock the faction using the steam app ID patcher.
According to the RPS review, the strategic layer has been completely derped down. This iteration of TW has seemingly become a battle simulator, nothing more.

i guess i have to thx the D again..... fuck battles , i want proper strategic layer
Well, I'm mostly interested in the strategy part - and I always found it pretty basic in Total War, so if it's even worse now - I doubt this will be for me.
Endless samey battles isn't all that exciting to me, no matter how good it looks.
I was looking forward to seing heroes (agents) actually taking part in battles. Apparently they're locked behind buildings so early access playthroughs needs a while to unlock them it seems.
I'm one of those assholes who liked zooming in and just watch the units fight in Shogun 2, here it is less interesting but I hoped the heroes would look cooler than the generic units in combat.
Anyone considering buying the game on a dummy steam account and sharing it with 2-3 other people? The game can be played offline after activation, so this seems like a feasible solution to get it cheap. I personally don't give a fuck about either achievements or multiplayer, so I'm good with offline play provided there are no hindrances to it due to D.
cheapest account I can see is 29,70 Euro. If you split this into 5 ppl then u can get everyone to plan on day 1 (the limit of denoobo is supposed to be 5 activation per 24h). There is also account access for 2.84, the guy claims that he will be sending this to 5 ppl per day, and only 3 ppl bought it so far so it's still a day 1 if true.
edit: just checking, not rly interested in playing this right now
edit 2: or ~27 if you buy it from India store

I don't see why anyone would BUY a steam account. It's free to set up. Just create a new one for this game and buy the game together with 2-4 friends whom you share the account with. Plain and simple.
U make a dummy account, buy the game, share the account details with ppl. U login into the account, DL the game, launch it once for denoobo to activate, turn game off, go offline mode on account, play game offline until denoobo asks to connect again after a week or more.
edit: coz for some reason the account with the game already on it is cheaper and you can change the email/pass afterwards

Total war games are total crap as grand strategy games, always felt a complete waste of time. I'll be more interested i've they focus on the 3d battles, that's the only good part of the series.
