for the shader effects : http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com/file/Kegetys_DXDLL;49296
as for mods I advice you to try FFUR and CSLA II (should be on http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com too)

what about Invasion 1944? (what skidrow mentioned, maybe)

edit: comparing FFUR to CSLA II - ffur looks definitely better imo.

Hi, I've just got a new graphics card and decided to reinstall operation flashpoint as I'm bored shitless and seeing some newer armed assault pictures got me salivating (Sad)

anyway I got the mods that dangerman listed but I'm still wondering what else to install. What does others consider 'essential'.

welcome back to fun-world Smile
in one of the other threads someone recommended the Enhanced OFP Configuration Project (ECP) addon, which i also would like to recommend. more realistic sounds, explosions etc.

Well, first you might get the DxDLL pack which was already mentioned here.

Then, you got a lot of choices:

First of all, theres FFUR - a total conversion of normal ofp. It adds in loads new graphical effects, loads of new realism features, and it changes all standard units and islands to new new better looking custom units and islands. You can then actually play the old campaigns with the new units, they're simply replaced automatically. Theres maybe 6 versions of FFUR, each has its own setting, one for winter, one for desert combat, asian combat, european setting etc...

Then theres ECP - Its older than FFUR, but also very good. It doesn't replace units, but it adds also like FFUR many new graphical effects, realism things, and atmospheric additions (like random combat chatter). I usually play with ECP, still my prefered addon but I haven't checked out the new FFUR versions yet...

Those are 2 total conversions which JUST CHANGE THE CORE "LOOK" and "FEEL" of the game. They replace your old OFP with a newer, better one.

Then theres the other mods, those who actually deliver completely new content. Theres loads of them in the works, Personally, I like The Unsung, a Vietnam mod nad as mentioned above Invasion1944, which isn't out yet but very very near to completion (they just released a new trailer today, can't provide the link yet due to bandwith problems).

Thanks guys, I've installed the ECP because of the sound options (I'm more of a sound junkie than a graphics whore) Unfortunately I thought it might change those awful...radio...commands...as...well...but...it...didn't... Sad Very Happy

Couple of questions from a newbie I guess, can I install ECP and FFUR in tandem? The unit updates for example do appeal as I'm thinking of going through the old campaigns again. I've also seen quite a few different animation sets on the opflashpoint sites - do they work effortlessly with most units (I don't have to start vetting mods for example) and which one is the best in your opinion?

Anything to get me started...

Still I can't believe I left the game on the shelf for this long. If anyone else enjoyed OpFlash so much in when it first came out then rest assured it has lost none of that spark or quality. It's like old times again and without needing nostalgia to make it enjoyable. What a game!

Good question - can you use ECP and FFUR at the same time? I have used ECP for two years and can't live without the great sounds.

Do you need to have resistance in order to load up these mods? I bought the original OFP way back when, but never resistance.

Hopefully not, it would be nice to get some OFP going again...
