Quote:
The Exorcist, based on William Friedkin's iconic 1973 horror film, will follow two priests tasked with ridding one unlucky family's demonic plights. According to Fox, the series will be a psychological thriller and will focus primarily on the tension between the two priests who approach exorcism from very different angles. Alfonso Herrera (Sense8), Ben Daniels (House of Cards) and Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise) are set to star with Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) set to direct the pilot.

They come with built-in fanbases.

Herrera was great in Sense8, but I'm not sure any actor is worth suffering through this. Trusty mini-reviews will be needed.

I think it was actually pretty good. I'm not a fan of exorcism and stuff but the pilot was nice.
I just hope it won't turn into a procedural cops with bibles show Laughing

Didn't really catch my attention. But maybe next episode will be better.
The possession scenes were great.

I tried this one and it's a huge and pleasant surprise. There was a couple of exorcist-themed shows this year - Outsider, this and Damien (Laughing) come to mind - and this one is the best by far, IMO. Outsider wasn't bad but there was just nothing that stood out. This has top level atmosphere, GREAT possession scenes and there's no demon of the week, procedural bullshit either. Really cool, didn't expect that in the least and certainly not out of FOX.

The best possession scene was in the attic imho. But yeah so far it has been good and a pleasant surprise indeed.

As for Outcast, it had a different kind of atmosphere which was pretty nice + I really appreciated that it tried to do something different, not just ordinary demonic possessions, god vs devil, evil demons vs humans etc. But it was too slow in the middle...This show's pacing is better.

Outcast is a comic book adaptation and season one went more or less very close to the comic book story.

I can't really agree on this shows pacing. I think the two first episodes were really slow with a lot of time wasting. It picked up with the introduction of the Salesman.

Nice season finale. Although the whole story about the Pope and the conspiracy was kinda bad.

Ben Daniels was fantastic.

I dunno, to me it was wasted potential given source material. They were doing too much magical powers, explosions and plot twists with zero impact / retarded writing. Geena Davis' character was annoying every time she was on screen, same with the young priest.

The padres of Fox’s The Exorcist are putting the pedal to the metal and flooring it to the Pacific Northwest after saving Chicago. At tonight’s Comic-Con panel for the series, creator Jeremy Slater unloaded more details about Season 2, specifically that the events will take place on a forested island off of Seattle. Expanding the drama to another location provides the opportunity for The Exorcist to be played out more as an anthology series.

“We’re going to see a foster home, a group for troubled kids” said Slater. John [Cho]’s character is the patriarch, and Brianna [Hildebrand] is one of the kids in his care.”

I've just binge-watched all 6 available episodes and I liked it more than the first season tbh.

However, the Vatican story isn't interesting tbh. Thankfully it takes just a small part of the screen time.

After two awesome seasons, we’re sorry to report today that Fox has pulled the plug on “The Exorcist,“ cancelling the series after just two seasons on the air.
