I think DZ is both fun and frustrating. I've yet to meet someone I suspected of being a hacker, though.

I did see some dude floating around in the sky at one point - but that could just be a weird server issue.

I've tried duoing a couple of challenge missions with the GF - but we fail hard Sad

We're both at ~178 GS.

Maybe we just suck.

If The Division is using a trusted client model, as this industry videogame and networking vet believes, then the cheating will essentially be unfixable unless Ubi/Massive completely rewrite the network code from the ground up Facepalm

The whole debacle continually leads me to believe this was always a single player game with a co-op aspect to the missions but Someone© higher up decided that it should have a competitive side too. SP games, even ones with co-op, work perfectly fine with a trusted client implementation, but MP and competitive titles should never have something like that because it just leads to insane hacks.

Damn, this game is so so off-putting with the new focus on massive grinding, it's just absurd. It's one of those massive fuckups you could see from a mile away and the devs went ahead with it anyway.

Just try it. Nothing bad will happen if they decline it.

Though my guess is, that they won't refund it. As this probably counts as DLC and is bound to the base games playtime.

Also if the purchase is longer than 2 weeks ago, Steam won't refund either.

The rope thingy sucks hard indeed. I expect a ton of trolling attempts with this. Although I imagine it being hard to cut the rope if 4 people guard it well enough. This might only happen in the new DZ with the new gear. Can't see someone doing this in low level areas other than trolling.
