Oi guiyzz.
You recently had a glass/bottle of wine? Was it great? Or maybe awful? Or perhaps had some just to get wasted?
Please post your wine tasting experience in here. Don't forget, if possible, to mention the kind, the brand and the millesima (harvest year).

That's the spirit, start off by insulting the guy...
Also, alcohol is for poor people. We who have money prefer nose-candy, maximum buzz and no hang-over.

Depending on where you live... in the northern countries it seems as if the drunkards are the rich guys, looking at what they pay for booze

My latest ghetto-sommelier experience was Saturday evening at a wedding, we had some* glasses of Chianti Classico and Nobile di Montepulciano (both from 2012). Pretty damn good as always, you can't go wrong with those, especially if there's steak involved.
*too many xD
edit: and welcome to the Humps!

Thank you for the welcomings.
The Sangiovese based wines are very popular. I like the fact that although they are very renowned (and especially Italian), you can still find (if you seek thoroughly) in the open market a lot of affordable ones. Not much like the wines from the Piemonte region for instance (barolo, barbaresco, etc.)
Next time you should try a syrah based red wine from toscana. You'll be positively surprised. (07,09,10 & 2013 have been good years) |
Very true , their quality is excellent considering the prices (not that I'm an expert or anything like that, but I just enjoy relatively decent stuff from time to time). Will add the Syrah ones to the wine backlog as well!
@Pumpy: connoisseur
(btw, there's also the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo which is a wine from a different area entirely..a worse one )

Favourites of mine are censault-pinogate (south africa), malbec (argentina), syrah and the austrilian bastardization of it.
Yesterday I had for dinner Merryvale Zinfandel 2012. Shit was so cash.
