Fantastic addition to the series. I still think DS1 is the best one but this one got really close. Second one wasn't as good as 1 and 3 but still was my Goty, that's how good these games are.
This is obviously my Goty in 2016 so far, but the year is still young, we'll see what the near future brings.
Anyway, might start a NG+ immediately, might not. Anything that makes waiting for the expansions less painful
Someone discovered a poise setting in the game files is disabled, if you turn it on it makes poise work more similar to DS1. But doing so may get you banned.
Done after ~80 hours.
Got the normal ending, I'm checking out the wiki and damn that one particular ending requires a shit ton of stuff to be done/not done
Guess I'll check them on youtube.
Great game, true sucessor to DS and better than DS2 for me (and apparently everyone else), GOTY so far.
That annoying stuttering some times still pisses me off a litle, is this from the game itself or due to the fact that I'm using old ass nDerpia drivers?

@4treyu Did you respec in your playthrough? I tried it yesterday and immediately Sirris appeared and said we are not friends anymore. I hope it didn't mess up with the ending.
Thanks.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

You only messed up her sidequest (if you didn't complete it yet), not the "special" ending
Dark Souls comic sells out on day one, second printing coming soon
Quote:
Although this isn’t the first Dark Souls comic, it’s the first to release as a standalone series as opposed to a limited promotional event for a specific game. The series is written by George Mann (Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor, Newbury and Hobbes Investigations) and illustrated by Quah. Fans may be pleased to learn it’s not a retelling of any of the games’ stories to date; one of the major beauties of Dark Souls is that so much is open to interpretation and left to the player’s imagination, and nailing down a canon would ruin that.
I've respecced at Sl 120 into a sorcerer and I could deal a very good damage at INT=60 but only when I used 4(!!) + magic damage items.
Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring +20%
Young Dragon Ring +12%
Crown Of Dusk - +10%(reduces magic protection though)
Scholar's Candlestick +20% (you have to keep it in your off-hand )
So,it's +62% damage increase overall however I'm pretty sure it gets cut by some internal game logic so as to keep it "under control"
There is another item(Magic Clutch Ring +15% damage) I could use but it reduces melee defenses that are already pretty low so I didn't put it on.
All this doesn't fix, of course, slow casting time and a really ridiculous mana cost on some spells (mostly spears) especially compared to much cheaper spells that do almost the same damage.
So, it's all good when you already have a high Sl level but it's a nightmare compared to DS1-2 trying to actually level a sorcerer.
As for PVP...
It looks like in PVP sorcs are only good at trolling other players from afar - : sniping\one-shotting them using soul stream spell You gotta use obscuring ring, of course.
As for face to face encounters.. you'll most likely never land a spell (that is if you ever manage to cast it at all especially against fast and aggressive opponents) on a competent PVP player. Some spells do not even require dodging. You can strafe left\'right a bit and they miss lol

It's a new balance version (1.05 instead of the current 1.04) so they've changed something but as usual they're vague with details.
EDIT: Basically there's two version numbers, one for the game/data which is currently 1.03.1 on PC and with this patch it should be 1.04 and then there's one for balance or regulations as they call it which is 1.04 currently and will be 1.05 after the patch.
Lightning\Great Lightning\Sunlight Spears Now Do Full Damage Only In Melee Range
Distant Range Attack: AAA DPS (really low for such a mana cost)
Melee Range Attack: 1.5xAAA DPS
What the actual fuck... Whose brilliant idea was it?
So faith build casters who put 60 points into FTH and don't wear heavy armor, shields and what not coz they just can't, they have to jump around fast and aggressive enemies in melee range?.. Even slow Lothric Castle knights most of the time hit you when you try to raise your hand casting a lightning spear lol...
I'm not even talking about pvp. You'll get roflstomped there if you try to do it in melee range against any decent pvp player. It's not viable even against such kinda slow enemies as Lothric knights in PvE , for instance as mentioned above. SOmetimes it will work but most of the time they'll just punish you badly while you are stuck in animation. I don't even wanna talk about faster enemies or bosses. It gets real ugly there.
Good that he is confirming there won't be one in a while. I don't need more Dark Souls, I need new Souls games.
Agreed. While I'm enjoying Dark Souls 3 immensely, I feel like the saga in its current formula should stop here, ending it with a glorious bang and a return to form. It's time for new possibilities and new designs, as long as it's something challenging and satisfying I'm game.
@Horny: the life of a sorcerer in the Souls lands is a troubled one!
(I'm "lucky" that I really like to be stabby and rub my sword all over my opponents, otherwise I'd be ranting too xD)
But it's not about a sorcerer. It's actually about a cleric and it's not only about a cleric.. this game has serious balancing issues even when it comes to Miyzaki's favorite steel dildos. whole categories of weapons are unbalanced and some are just useless, disabled poise etc etc.
"if a FROM Software developer come to me five years from now and beg ‘please let me make another Dark Souls‘. Then I will not rule out the possibility to let my subordinates start a new project."
B-team like DS2 I guess that would still be good, better than nothing

Same. Bit disappointed with that ending though. You need to do bunch of stuff and you get just a 5 second cutscene in the end?
Anyways, very solid game, and enjoyed it thoroughly (minus grand archives area). Might check NG+ in few weeks.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Unfortunately there's not much of a change for NG+ in this game although you can get some improved +1 rings and then +2 and finally +3 as you progress through the game multiple times.
The white soul consumable items also improve going up to souls of a champion which gives some 25.000 souls upon consume which is kinda needed due to the ever increasing cost of leveling up.
But there's no new armor sets or weapons besides being able to get the boss soul transposition you couldn't get on the previous playthrough.
(If you jumped immediately into NG+ after beating the final boss and getting whatever ending then you should also notice that it's soul can be turned into some items and the old hag now sells his armor but she'll do that if you return to the shrine before heading into NG+ mode too.)
No new invasion NPC's or such either or more of those "champion" type mobs.
(Dark red in DS2 and here they have glowing red eyes.)
No new weapons/armors? So have to use the current weapons itself?
Not even upgraded stats?
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
