I've played all I want to play right now, it's a very pretty game and it runs surprisingly well, though there are definite issues with the streaming tech going on.. so much of the time the world was just stark white and then textures popped in when you get within 5m. It looks like it could be a blast to play, it's fluid and feels tight, and the open world could be fun to explore.
Sadly it's got the D up the ass, so yeah, €5 sale is pretty much the only way I'll ever pick this up
They won't be sending out more any more keys, right? Figures. I always sign up for every beta in sight but never get into the ones I actually want to play

maybe we can hope for an open beta sometime, in da futurez!
not sure what to think of this :-/ Quite enjoyed the running part of the mission , but had to quit out of disgust when they forced me to use the "combat mod" , runner vision is the expected kind of bullshit which can be turned off hopefully ,... not sure
... i guess it was a bit overkill to setup new OS on USB drive to be clean from the big D
I dont like doing this, but this is a game I have been looking forward to for years.
So if anyone is kind enough and has a spare key I would be sooooooooo grateful. (and would offer a free steam copy of my (Critically acclaimed) game Sprinter in return )
just wait, theyre sending the keys out in batches. also id imagine this'll go open beta soon enough.. isnt that the usual procedure? closed beta, then open?
well im not very fond of the performance im getting.. and theres one thing i fucking HATE about frostbite games... they never seem to like window mode. i play most games windowed because my screen resolution, but frostbite games never have a resolution setting for windowed mode which annoys the everloving fuck out of me.
performance wasnt... fast.. for me, and i noticed a buttload of glitches on that annoying guys clothes.. beta, sure, but it was pretty bad.
i DO like the combat in this.. doesnt seem to be anything especially clever or whatever, but its functional and for the most part fun.
dunno about anyone else but i did find that the freerunning and combat wasn't as smooth as id have liked.. just felt like there were too many noticable transitions between actions, like a little pause as the animation shifts from running to starting an action... makes things feel a little sticky to me.
graphics are ok, but not really wowing me for the performance im getting...
im actually a little surprised i havent hit a 'and thats the end of the beta, bubye now' screen... pretty worthwhile beta. I like the fact that this time around it seems like the game actually has a story unlike the first game... and a potentially interesting story at that.

You can change the window size and resolution by simply doing a drag/resize like on a normal window. It doesn't remember the setting between launches though.
Anyhow, I did the first "escape" part of the Beta to see how it looks and runs. As expected, PostAA really blurs things heavily in this. Disabling it makes things nice and sharp, but also jaggy as hell. Injecting SMAA improves thing somewhat, but not enough on its own, so you will probably want to use downsampling or resolution scaling to go along with this.
On a 980Ti, everything Ultra, motion blur and post AA off, 1080p, 120% resolution scaling (in-engine) + SMAA I usually get between 75 and 100 FPS depending on the situation, which is not bad at all.
In many cases it actually runs better outdoors, I am guessing due to lower level of detail. That first grand city reveal was at over 100 for example.
I have the game on SSD but every once in a while there is still a small but noticeable hitch when the game loads a new area. The way it is now is more an annoyance rather than something that makes the game unplayable, but in a game focused on the perfect flow you feel even the smallest of delays.
yeah i know you can manually resize, but that utterly bugs the shit out of me; i like my resolution to be... nice and clean? i want my 1080, i cant do 1081 dammit I JUST CANT! every other game manages to allow manual setting of window resolution, why cant a AAA game out of EA using frostbite handle it? LOTS of people play games in a window, its not like its a minor option...
As this new release of ME2 is coming out I thought I'd play the first one, for shits and giggles.
It was....mediocre. When playing it I had a strong feeling it was primarily made with derpsoles in mind. The controls felt clunky and the walljumping and parkour stuff failed quite a bit due to both control issues and just weird random stuff.
I really don't see why this game got so much praise as beside it being unique it was just such a mediocre game overall.
This new one looks better, but looks can be deceiving (that leveling shit is fucking retarded for one).
PS4: most of the times low 50s - 60 fps. (Very rarely 60)
XB1: most of the time high 40s - 60 fps. (Very rarely 60)
In some cases XB1 performs better.
Cutscenes:
Prerendered, 30 fps, but actually running at 20s most of the time. XB1 seems a bit better. Probably the game is loading the next level in the background and they haven't decoupled the loading from the playback for god knows what reason. This definitely screams beta issue.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
damn it! download just finished but can't start it because of my old nvidia drivers. not gonna install the latest drivers until the random crashes and system freezes for some users (like myself) are fixed.
maybe i can find some ini or so to disable the driver check at start up.

Looks really really reeeealllly bad and still framerate is all over the place guess i will skip this.
Framerate was definitely all over the place, but looks bad? I can't agree there, I thought the visuals were (aforementioned texture streaming issue aside) beautiful
just installed the newest driver for a quick play and will reinstall the old ones afterwards.
It's really fun to run around, climb, fight people but the story and especially the characters are just cringe worthy. i wonder if we will get ever a proper game with a proper story and especially a good proper ending. so many game releases every year and still most of the games these days still have shitty story lines or "cool" chars which can come only from a nerdmind.
it runs pretty great here. just tried high settings and got no problems at all. will see later how far i can go up with my old 970. if it will be in a sale or so i think i would buy it. but not more then 20 euros.
