It does not matter how long it takes in RL or in kerbal. Here it just looks dumb, no sens of hight or speed. He just flew trough the clouds and was in space already

You guys realise it took less than 15s to take off from a planet and enter space, in Elite 2 Frontier, right? There's a lot of worrying things to point out about this.. but we're now griping about the take off speed? Even though we saw, from pretty much the very first announcement video, that the interplanetary speeds were super-fast? Smile

I dunno, it has been pretty lacking of late with good new total conversion mods. I look from time to time for anything that might be fun but find nothing for it. With a better pc though it is great to be able to run shaders on minecraft without worrying about frame rates Very Happy

You're thinking of this the wrong way. Check FTB, the content tops most AAA titles for $60 these days. The game doesn't need a "total conversion", not at all. But maybe you're not the type for that, if Shaders are already enough compared to fresh content

No you are mistaken here Very Happy, Shaders + new content = better to me. Shaders give a few mins of oooo nice moments, then its ok what shall I continue to use this mod with?

The video above is the very same gameplay as a video I watched over on IGN but with a different host.

Why is it all the recent videos have the game looking like absolute ass? Has the dreaded downgrade hammer been swung at this too? All I can hope is that the PC version looks significantly better.. though that's a futile hope at best.

Has it ever looked that good? it has always looked very simplistic. i really dont like games where the trees are maybe twice the size of the character, why do game devs so often do that :/ i think they really need to go out more Very Happy

It's funny really how big of a difference it makes - Skyrim has that Bigger Trees mod that instantly transformed the look of the forests, and it's just a simple mesh scale change.

NMS better have proper modding support, otherwise I fail to see how it could have any sort of long-term appeal.

It's a console game first and foremost. I seriously doubt there will be any mod support. On the contrary, they may try to lock down the content because of the (albeit limited) online bit.

IMO, yes. The first reveals and gameplay vids were quite impressive, but the later ones are aliased to hell and back, have utterly revolting pop-in and have lost a lot of the standout visuals.

Who cares how it looks? It can't be anything but a bunch of hollow generated "content" that's going to feel extremely repetitive soon after you start playing.

If it was a cheap little title, I guess that would be ok.

But a lot of people are setting themselves up for one major disappointment.

Woohaa woohaa, so now it is okay to be a cynical humper?

Not many will be disappointed here though, if you haven't read: the majority here thinks it has no lasting appeal.

So, what's the whining about? Smile

Cynicism isn't the Hump problem-child. It's whiny entitlement, if you ask me.

And now i see why the game cost us 60 usd. Advertisement is everthing.
