IDE to USB Enclosure Problem! DVD Burning!

I cant seem to burn a DVD in my USB device... is this a hardware related or USB?

After burning say... 10% it hangs... nothing happens Sad

does anyone here have a solution?

What speed are you trying to burn? If you're using high speeds, try lower ones (6X should be fine). At 10%, the DVD writer changes speeds, so, if you're trying to burn at say...12x, it will change speed once from 6x to 8x and then from 8x to 12x (that's how my Asus writer does). Also, try using different USB ports (not all ports on a computer are USB 2.0).

I think the level of success (if any) in using any USB to IDE converter device depends on the USB chipset it contains.

I use a USB2IDE adaptor and find that my burning speeds are diminished. A CD burn on my 40x drive gets me about 28x. A DVD burn gets me 2.2X on my 8x burner.

My adaptor uses the Cypress chipset.

Yeah!

I figure out how!!!

DONT USE USB! USE FIREWIRE!

It fix everything... though.. cost more.. its better!

Yep, I agree, my 8x burns at 4x on usb2.0

Starforce is a good protection, but I doubt legit customer would still want to get their hands on these protected game.. because of Backup problem... even with activation method.. not everyone could get internet...
