but the video is specifically about all these virtual reality centered games being shoveled out atm.
its not about the technology itself or real games
Yes, so don't blame VR as a whole, which the video (or the title of the video does).. it's like bashing PC gaming as whole because there's shit like Farmville.
Just look at those bored retards in the video.
They obviously have no interest in VR at all, besides trying to bash it.
I think they are making a very good point that those $40 tech demos are shit and its a scam, but its not all there is to VR and they seem kinda unwilling to acknowledge that.
Also, did anyone watch the whole 11h show? I remember a time when 1h shows were considering long.. 11 fucking hours of those bored people, no thanks.
I think alot of amateur indie devs jumped onto the VR hype train to make a quick buck. Having their game ready for launch means they have a very short development time but people will still buy their shovelware crap just because there aren't many quality games available yet.
We will see much better games in the future.

They whined at Virtual Desktop that you could not do anything using the steam controllers...well, thats cos Virtual Desktop is not ment to be used with them.

Just me checking the Reddit Shipping thread. Read 5:41 shipped! omg, that means im next.
Its 5 Minutes, 41, fucking, seconds. That means that in USA they are still processing orders made 5 fucking minutes after opening. 5 fucking minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called Illusion VR, it’s safe to say, gaming peripherals have never managed to look as legit and dignified as this!
This virtual reality sex suit is made to work along side the game ‘Sexy Beach’ – one Sexy Game for Perverts I must admit I’ve not had the pleasure of experiencing first hand (*orders from internet*) – and uses the Oculus Rift and Tenga, the curiously un-erotic masterbatory tool for discerning gentlemen, to good effect.
It also uses a specially made touching sensor suit that makes your body feel as though it’s being touched, as well as a pair of boob-like appendages for you to grope and manipulate
The Full Body Virtual Interface, as it has been clinically named, will set you back a paltry £300 and will perfectly simulate a clumsy sexual encounters
Im at the 6min mark and I get mine tomorrow. So...
I'm in Los Angeles, I think they went up to 5 minute something with the first batch and after that handled europe so once that is done it should go back to us (I think) - I see 5.50 orders being shipped in the us now as per the reddit page, so it could be today or tomorrow. Anything passed tomorrow I am raising hell ... hahaha I really hope things work out this week thats all.
I was thinking for FPS games, do you think there will be up uproar in a year or 2 (or 3) about the numbing to violence using VR?
I know its a wore out, tired, played out topic that people bring up all the time.
But was thinking back while telling a friend yesterday about getting finally ordering the vive too, what games I tried on the dk1 and dk2.
And remembered that HL2 was the only 'real' game I played that involved shooting people. The combine soldiers actually pissed me off personally while in VR, like down to a personal realistic level where I tensed up, furrowed my brow at them, and heart rate went up. but even then, shooting them actually I hesitated a bit. I had to work past that idea, to that Im just playing a game.
I actually felt bad doing it, and eventually worked past caring anymore if I was shooting people.
Get a more realistic game (with actual people looking people) and I dont think I could do as good as if I was playing on a monitor, shooting what 'looks' like a person you are seeing feels so weird and wrong, despite 100% knowing its a game, I tensed up the first few times until I got accustomed to it.
I've NEVER had that in a game before playing on a monitor. And think people saying games on a monitor desensitize people to violence was ignorance and misunderstanding of an alien concept to them.
playing a console/PC on a screen in front of you in your house I still think is stupid to say it does that.
But at least from my view point, I can see a flicker of truth to it maybe in VR, as shooting people in it really feels like you are shooting someone. And could see it, at least in some small, fundamental way taking away a tiny bit of the primal barrier I have for the instinctual gut reaction to not be willing to shoot someone.
