Just called the local hotel and said "I want a big room for me and my Vive". All I got was a small room with a queen sized bed What did I do wrong? Is my english that bad?
I think the biggest problem with having arms in VR is that games do not know if you're turning your whole body or just your head. If you're trying to shoot something coming slightly from your left you can either just turn your head or your whole body and the resulting arm positions would be very different.

Not sure why it would be so tbh... you have different tracking on your VR helmet than you got on your controllers... but perhaps I misunderstod you?

But isn't it a same problem with determining when to rotate the body, what direction to move and how to handle actions? You already use the silly touchpad on one of the controllers to rotate and some stick to move, so it is already "awkward". Again, I don't think this is as big of an issue if the virtual body is not 100 percent aligned, because everything else is much more awkward already. Just take a look at how terrible all tech demos feel in that Giant Bomb video. The tech is not there, and it is as accurate as a wii/ps move controllers (= not at all accurate).

I see what you did there.

The manager asked me when me and my Vive got married.. Fucking weirdo... I know people can get married to material things like the Berling wall etc, but getting married to my Vive... thats juts weird..

Lets say you play some kind of shooting game and there's an enemy coming from the left.
Now you could:
1. rotate your head to the left and shoot it while your body is still facing the original direction.
or
2. rotate your whole body to the left and shoot it.
The game doesn't know the difference between 1 and 2 because headset and controllers would be in a similar position but the resulting positions of your arms would be totally different.

Haven't watched the giant bomb stream but most Vive games don't use artificial trackpad movement. That's one of the main things that makes people sick.
I don't have a Vive yet so I can't really say how important 100% body alignment is but most people who have messed around with the Vive Pre say they'd rather have floating hands/controllers. I think there's one game that shows your characters arms, sadly I don't remember the name.
I watched Giant Bomb's Rift stream and they made it look like a really shitty and boring product and the chat was literally cancer. So I didn't even bother when they streamed the Vive.

This is because you missed the 3 golden rules about gaming Streams :
rl N°1 : Close the chat right away,
rl N°2 : On Twitch.tv use BetterTTV plugin dark theme,
rl N°3 : Don't watch Giant Bomb's streams.

Im guessing the VERY start of June. I checked Friday and it was quoting May, so between Friday and Sunday it changed to June.

My first experience with VR. It was difficult not to buy the DK1 and DK2 long ago, but i think my patience will pay off when i put on the Vive for the first time.
