When you have some promise making high headed dev team leader telling his bosses it's ok and will release on time.....it's easy to send out an arsed up mess. Title update incoming....FUCK OFF!
Microsoft killing PC gaming as the console boys sit and grip their controllers awaiting the next over priced POS....$80 CAD for that Quantum Broken.....My friend has an Xboxone and bought this game....he offered me the PC code for $30????? Not much of a friend...I said NO THANK YOU!!
I guess the high price tag is to help pay for the streaming live action segments.....god help us with this shit!!
The high price tag is because MS doesn't give a fuck. There's no "deeper" explanation, not even on the surface or as an excuse.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
This is what happens when you develop and fine-tune a game for a specific platform and then, few months before release, your boss tells you "oh... was almost forgetting... we need this for PC too. Oh, and make it ready for a same day release. Oh, and make it run in this sandbox environment that is not really designed for high-performance execution".
Call me a fanboy if you want but I don't blame the Remedy dev team for this one. The fault is entirely MS's (and on the management side of Remedy for being MS's bitches). MS wanted to release it in time for the BUILD conference to desperately try to promote their shitty Windows Store (an environment which isn't even ready to support this kind of high-performance apps yet) and they forced the dev's hands. This is the best that could be expected honestly.
Another thing is calling games "APPS" When I goto the Win10 store I am so confused by what games are PC and phone games....Most aremarked free? With an astrix*. PC gaming is a great platform and I get people not wanting to upgrade all the time etc...pop in the disc or download straight to console.....but to stamp out PC gaming and act like this is what PC gamers want is messed up....Quantum Break was a game I had on my radar and was excited about because it was Remedy.....
What is going to happen a couple of years from now when it is priced lower....will they still have the streaming live action parts or will it just die.....FUCK!!
Again the price has nothing to do with the streaming videos.
And of course those won't be available forever. It's Microsoft we are talking about.

What does surprise me is how people continue to support these big companies by buying there games
That is the big problem. Its the buyers who really hold the reigns, but those reigns only really work if the majority tugs in the right direction. Yet people seem to gladly give those reigns to companies. Why?
*I want thank my family for helping me write this byotiful analogy*.
Hardly anyone is buying this, don't worry about that.

This case, okay. Was more of a general statement. With huge fuck ups like this nonsense even the majority may wake the fuck up. But this forum for examples has members with far higher standards than that

So far there are 6 reviews in Remedy's home land Window Store:
Sale numbers must be huge.
ps. Does anyone remember this?

Microsoft showed Crackdown 3, Scalebound and Quantum Break at the Xbox conference this week. If Microsoft are planning to make Windows 10 part of the Xbox ecosystem, why not bring those games to PC? We put the question to head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer.
"In the case of things like Scalebound or Crackdown or Quantum Break, you know, just to be completely honest with you, we started those games before we really looked at expanding into Windows in the way that I wanted to bring as part of becoming head of Xbox.
Going to those teams mid-cycle and saying: ‘Hey, by the way, I want to add a platform,’ didn’t really feel like necessarily the best way to end up with the best result for the game.
If this one is a sign of things to come I think they might be better to keep those exclusive, since that way they won't have the shit PC version to be roasted all over the internet

Microsoft are like a spastic kid throwing its arms around. You have to hit them over the head and they stay calm for a while. Until the next spaz attack.
This stunt will fail miserably and they will stop saving PC gaming for a while.
It's not really a crack either after reading the instructions on how it works, just a way to fool the authentication by loading the app a bit differently, doesn't work for Killer Instinct or Gears from how I understood so it might just be a oversight on MS or Remedy's end and thus it has a high chance of being fixed when the title update drops.
(It also requires a LIVE account so you might risk getting into problems unless you use a secondary/temporary one though that's the same as with certain Steam releases lately requiring being logged into Steam so nothing especially new there.)
yep and will probably be patched out on next windows update (obviously instead of actually improving WinStore/UWA platform)
Gears has Arxlan DRM (aka what CoD Blobs3 and Gta5 uses) under UWP layer so there it might be little bit harder
Just seen eurogamer article... the game is fucked. I was hoping it's blurry because aa is great and there is no jaggies/shimmering. Nope. Its a fucking aliased mess at low res... wtf is going on
