Bandai Namco has publicly acknowledged some Dark Souls 3 players have bought the international version of the game, but they don’t seem thrilled about it. The company says it’s “incomplete” because multiplayer is not turned on, and a day one patch will “deliver further optimisation of the game.”
Wait, what are they saying?
I played multiplayer yesterday, it's fine.
Got invaded and did coop on a boss and it worked surprisingly well considering I was playing japanese players.
Or maybe they mean the xbox one version? I'm on PS4 with jp text.

Wait what?
You're playing on PS4? So the play early trick by creating a Japanese account works on Xbox One and PS4?
The PS4 version only has english voices with japanese text. The Xbone version comes with english text as well from what I understand.
So I assume the xbone trick actually downloads an english version, while on the PS4 you can't do that, you just get the japanese which just happens to have english voices.
Still, as a souls veteran, japanese text is not a problem for normal gameplay. You know most of the items from the icons.
Looking forward to the full extent of the lore with the english version! Item descriptions woooohoooo

Sorry, not interested anymore in Soul games... I just find them too hard, and I play video games for over 25 years so I'm not a casual gamer!
You sound like me after I played Demon Souls on PS3 all those years ago. They are challenging games but perseverance, leveling and upgrading is key and the multiplayer feature can be used to overcome the tough bosses. There's no way I will turn down another Souls game!

Indeed!
Back in the day I imported Demon's Souls from Korea but couldn't get all that far and gave up.
Then Dark Souls release drew closer and it renewed my interest... I tried again and didn't give up that time, and it finally clicked.
Souls/Bloodborne then became my favorite series of games bar none.
There is the downside of many other games not being up to the standards set for me by Souls though...
The combat, bosses, music, level design, art direction, lore, I love it all and barely any other games come close in any one of those aspects, let alone all of them at the same time.
That is of course just personal taste, not objective.
Oh and that's excluding Dark Souls 2 which I just didn't enjoy as much, Souls is not the real deal without Miyazaki directing.
15 hours in now btw, it's sooooo goood hhnnnggghhh

I also bought the PS3 Korean import of Demon Souls! Still have it somewhere, along with the packaging lol. Sold my PS3 ages ago and couldn't trade it in so I'm stuck with it.
As expected of the prestigious franchise, it looks as though this third instalment has lived up to the hype, with EDGE awarding the release a 9/10 in the magazine's latest issue.
Made 3 wallpapers for myself by stitching together PS4 screenshots, thought I'd share with you guys.
The are of early game areas from the first 5 hours or so already shown in trailers, but I'll spoiler tag them just in case
Spoiler:
I adore the look and feel of this game. Breathtaking views...
