The series is called Red Dead and not Red Dead Redemption. So it should be Red Dead 3 and not RDR 2.

The best game for PS3 for me as well. So sequel would be great. Also I don't see any reason for Rockstar to skip PC release this time.

I owned ps3 for 2 weeks 3 years ago. Was super hyped to finally play uc trilogy and exclusives. I now so much hate uncharted after finishing all 3 games. So overhyped series... It's gears of war in disguise but in a bad way. Gow is at least aware of what it is. Dude bro cool soldier in scifi setting with great shooting/cover gameplay.
And uncharted is Tomb Raider Jones but You shoot thousand enemies in each game!(statistics from game screen). And shooting in uncharted was just bad. I do enjoyed uncharted 3 tho. It had best story, characterization and least shooting (500 kills).
As for Last of Us. I've watched it on Youtube and I absolutely love the story and amazing characters, atmosphere. But gameplay is not for me.
The only thing worth anything on new consoles is Bloodborne

Haha no, I never had the chance to play it. Never owned a console myself, but ages ago, the thought of grabbing a ghetto one for the first time just for this game indeed tickled me for some days, until I remembered that I genuinely can't find enjoyment in playing such kind of game with a gamepad (and believe me, I have tried..it's just that I very much dislike how it feels, the constraints when aiming, everything about it really  ) so it all went tits up.

You won't if you're like me 
Uncharted tells a great story and if they were films, I'd totally fucking love them because it's basically Indiana Jones on steroids. In fact, all 3 are much, MUCH better than Indy 4. I'd love to see them made into films (and TLoU for that matter ).
That said? All 3 are completely unengaging. KC's comparison to Gears of Bore is actually pretty valid, because the gameplay is equally shallow and just shit all around. To draw a comparison to the latest TR games, it's very on rails just like that. The "platforming" is just as useless, because you can't really fail the jumps unless you're a complete and utter moron. To be fair to TR though, it is slightly more..."difficult" than UC, UC has a lot of jumps that you really can't fail. As in, you can't mess up timing by not pressing within the 5 second window and fall to your death...because it just won't do anything.
Not that TLoU is all about the gameplay, because it's not. But the gameplay fits perfectly with what the game is and is about. You're constantly on guard, listening for infected, because you have limited resources in every sense. That at the same time has you searching every corner for resources, something both UC and TR fail to do because...well, why would you? And then there's the fact that not every bit of story went into a cutscene or QTE. What made the combat bearable for me is that:
A) Stealth is a viable and often even preferred option
B) If you do need to shoot, it still requires some thought because ammo is quite scarce..
C) ..and the fact that when you shoot, loads of infected will come to eat your face and there's no way you can hold them off with what you've got.
UC and TLoU both do great story telling; TLoU does more of it whilst keeping you engaged though and that's why I loved it. And double dipped like you did
I guess the easiest way to explain it for me is that TLoU is not a cover shooter, which I just absolutely loathe. Yes, it has a cover mechanic and yes, there's shooting, but it's not a cover shooter. UC is. At this point I'll probably still get Uncharted once it goes on a nice hefty sale, mostly because I've played the other 3 and I might as well watc...err, play the next part of the story. |
