what's a good fps counter for dx12? Rivaturner, dxtory, fraps or steam overlay dont display overlay.

Are you looking for a checkbox or could it be a added setting to the ambient occlusion option?
I can't really check myself as I have a AMD GPU but if it's not a checkbox it should be with the AO settings logically.

Only EVGA Precision X and the Steam Overlay itself (And Origin for their games but that doesn't apply here.) supports D3D12 monitoring currently, Afterburner does not (low priority) and neither does ReShade (Even lower priority it seems.)

I think we should give it a name or something.. Gimpworks Law?
As in any game nvidia touches with their dirty hands runs like ass...
What's funny.. I wonder how many gimpworks games run bad on AMD and most nvidias gpus and how many Gaming Evolved games run bad on NVidia (are there any? lol).
I remember TR2013 had some problems but nvidia fixed them pretty quickly.. I had a titan back then..

Tested the DX12 update a bit. Set the resolution to 800x600 to remove GPU limitation and loaded up a location in Geothermal Valley. Got 97fps and 118fps for DX11 and DX12 respectively. On DX11, CPU usage was barely over 50% total, with the game fully loading four cores. On DX12, CPU usage was 90%+ total with the game loading all eight virtual cores. So in essence, DX12 allowed Hyperthreading to be leveraged and that's about it. Would probably be very good for 6-8core CPU's. I don't expect quadcores to benefit much since the DX11 renderer can seemingly already fully leverage four cores.

There was some stuttering here and there at exactly the same time. affecting min fps.
Sometimes max fps was noticeably higher (~80+ fps , Syria)

i5 760 @3,52GHz + R9 290X: just a quick test at Soviet Base, I didn't notice an appreciable performance difference but with DX12 there is some stuttering when I enter in new areas.
EDIT: I tried the benchmark and final results are basically the same.

Another little update was released, adds the pipe_cache.bin file which might be a shader cache or some such, perhaps to speed up loading times?

Anyone managed to run sweetfx on DX12?
Seems it has like 5-6 FPS and a bit more stability increase in performance for my old card, but maybe this is because sweetfx is not loading.

I seem to be getting better performance on DX12 than on DX11. The frames are more stable in DX12, but the visuals somehow don't seem as sharp as DX11. I can't really place my finger on it, but some effects (Tesselation?) seems like it's not rendered properly. Also, FRAPS gets disabled in DX12.

Impossible at the moment and Crosire dislikes Windows 10 so further support is on-hold, Vulkan might get supported soon though.

That's sad. So no DX12 for me then.

That sucks indeed. No DX12 for me in games too for now. As i doubt it will look and perform better than on DX11 with a nice Reshade preset.

Lack of ReShade support is my primary concern with DX12 going forward. I use it for 3D LUTs everywhere, and in this particular case in-game SMAA is pretty crap, so I use that as well. As DX12 gets more mainstream, hopefully support will be there sooner rather than later.
Either way, many people (including me) are getting random crashes in ROTTR with DX12, so it looks like it's not good to anyone at the moment.
