Seems like they push Online/Game as a service ... way too hard to my tastes :-/
aves are differentiated between online/offline , when internet falls downm game kicks you to menu and you need to load some old offline savbe, you cant see stats or play escalation or contracts( not even your own custommade)

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

So fair reviews. Probably most of the reasons to lower scores are performance and episodic content.

They sale pizzza games now Smile

It's your choice. If you wanna have a glimpse of the game now, you can buy it for 15 USD.

If you want the full experience, wait for 2017 till the disc is released for 60 USD.

It's not like the full game would have been ready for tomorrow anyway. They are obviously still working on it.

Nobody is forcing you to buy the missions separated. Not even me.

Do yourself a favor and just forget that millions of people will have already progressed in the game by 2017 and wait for the complete disc to do all the missions at once. Because obviously you don't want to buy the episodic content, and we got it.

not sure about final , but review build needs online for both stats and challenges ... even saves are marked as online/offline (when interned fails , you are kicked out to menu, and forced to load offline save )

Hitman creative director weighs risk, reward of going episodic

Some interesting tidbits:

Quote:
How did these changes affect the development process, especially for a team that’s not used to this approach?

First of all we had to restructure the game engine, from a static ‘ship it once’ engine to a tech foundation where we are able to alter content and change game rules with only minimal patches and small downloads. At the same time we needed to reorganize ourselves as a studio.

We now have a sizable live team, which is more akin to the structure of an MMO, than a classic game. (That’s not to say that the new Hitman game is an MMO.)

Quote:
Why was it important to you to offer the option for players to buy the entire game at once, as well as just the individual episodes?

We know we're doing something new. There is a saying ‘everybody likes progress, no one likes change.’ We fully see that.

We believe that as the season goes on, and concludes, people will see the benefits of how we developed the game. But we also accept that people see this as a risk. It’s a risk that they might not be willing to take for $60.

So we created an entry point, the ‘Intro Pack’, where you only pay for one episode at a time, which seems fair. We don't want to force people to a commitment. The game will speak for itself and you can jump in at any point or wait for the season to conclude.

Who in their right mind puts 4K and 960 in the same sentence?
Even 1440p is too much for that thing.

He rephrased "Early access", they had just said it that way it's more logical than that episodic way of release.

Personally I don't care how he justifies this episodic nonsense ...

By the time the last chapter or whatever it is called gets released I'll forget about the game it's story or whatever for sure... Laughing

But it makes sense.. I mean we all saw it coming, didn't we? First it was small additional content getting cut out and sold as DLCs, now they are selling incomplete games in parts.

Yea actually it really makes sense. Like real world hitman you complete one contract and after month or so they contact you with another task.
And i also kinda don't mind episodic stuff as i won't fall behind missions and take my time to finish all challenges and all on the current contract.

I think it's all fine Smile Nobody is forced to buy the game until it's complete (just like Early Access), if someone wants to play now (like me) they're not forced to pay full price, and the live aspect (its reach remains to be seen) certainly makes for a very interesting feature.

Sorry, but, does "thick AI" means good or bad? Confused

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

not sure about final , but review build needs online for both stats and challenges ... even saves are marked as online/offline (when interned fails , you are kicked out to menu, and forced to load offline save )

I was just reading that too, from Hardcoregamer: "The forced online functionality had us kicked back to the main menu numerous times, something that shouldn’t occur in a single-player centric release such as this"

Now, I'm confident that this Hitman is finally good again gameplay-wise (the buggy alpha already was promising), but there are many aspects that I'm not exactly ok with, and this is one of them. I find it just downright silly and anti-customer, clearly done to avoid that hypothetical piracy ghost, while damaging the common folk who for one reason or another can't be part of the connected vision. But fear not, if you want to try the game now, they tell you "ok, no problems men, we have a demo...it's $15!" Laughing

It's this new direction (generally speaking), which is leading to a point of no-return, with single player games turning into fragmented TV shows with seasons (...passes, obviously - was reading that they just hinted at a Season 2 for Hitman today), "supported" by the ill-fated necessity to keep everything online-focused. Teh power of the claud!
This, along with the huge success of titles like the Division, marks the beginning of a new erAAA in my opinion. Connectivity at all costs, being shoved down our throats, publishers going the long way to limit customers' freedom when it comes to modding or simply technical accessibility (see Micro & soft's fascist plans, or the unhealthy obsession that powerful companies have for the D. and so on), if we exclude small/medium projects, PC gaming nowadays is assuming the likeness of a scarily closed environment. I has teh sads Okay
This isn't the pirate me speaking, it's just a personal rant from a potential customer who has a hard time digesting this sort of stuff.
