To finally clear this up, there's 4-5 enemy classes, for 4 factions, within that there's the military (mid-late-game) and the AI acts differently depending on which faction they are (military is much more tactical and flanks harder, regular criminals rarely do, and so on).

Some of these hard missions are a bitch in coop. Some encounters taking multiple tries to beat. Those melee guys that can sneak around and beat the crap out of you are a pain in the ass lol

Yeah they have a pretty wide attack radius and range too so even dodging out of the way usually means you get hit and it only takes one or two hits and you'll lose a entire health block.
(Things get a bit tough in the mission zones where there's larger mob encounters, one group of normal enemies firing at you thus forcing you into cover and then there's one or two melee guys rushing in, blind firing works pretty well plus the usual grenade attacks.)

loving coop on hard. it does requires some coordination. make sure to use recombination in the tech wing of your base. it really helps maxing out a build.
i'm focusing sniper+ assault rifle, so i'm maxing out headshots and crit damage mostly.

I have two weapons, assault rifle as primary and sniper as secondary. I'm running with a medpack ability and deployable turret ability. That turret can come in handy. Helps slow down advances and get enemies into cover position.

I play the main missions in random groups but roam the city alone. Feels better going at my own pace, exploring where I please. I'll join you guys for the DZ when I'm level 30.

Sorry but that Steam e-peen is something I will not understand, mainly the reason people also shell out 60$ just for the Steam variant.
Maybe one day so I can experience this 4 enemy slaughtering! And mad PVP I hope.
