This got old very fast, as soon as it got "complete" whatever that means these days when the standard trade-model is playitwhilewemakeit. Pretty ballsy, but people don´t seem to care.

Anyway gimme Exanimas phys/graph-engine with PoE world/item/skill-system...

Screw this game. I started playing last night, setting the difficulty to 'veteran', which strangely enough, always defaulted back to 'normal'. But eventuall, I was under the impression that it got locked in veteran mode. (I was rather tired and wasn't paying too much attention. Also, I thought there was at least a bit of character customisation and class selection at the start so, I double clicked and the campaign launched automatically...)

Anyway, I started the game under the impression that I was playing at veteran difficulty, but it was a walk in the park and I got bored real quick. The game mechanics aren't that good, but it might be better on veteran AND hardcore mode, so I'm willing to give it another try.

What's the most fun class to play with? I prefer melee classes mostly, perhaps with some support, but all-ranged/kiting builds aren't for me. I tried the shaman first, but levelled up waaaaay too quickly and at level 7, my summoned minion totally wreaked havoc to entire regions without suffering even as much as a scratch.

First act is pretty easy even on veteran, the regular mobs get around 30% more health and the bosses are slightly harder. On act 2 however I started to get my ass handed to me to the point that I was thinking about farming xp and gear because I get swarmed and killed by lesser mobs or 1-2 hit killed by bosses.

I think this game looks terrible at the first act, maybe it gets better. But my god the spell effects, the fonts they use, the animations... I just can't stand the art style, its low quality.

I agree that the animations suck big time. And the music... more often than not, it's completely out of place. I'm consdiering turing it off, but then the game would become even blander.

So, how much does Diablo 3 cost these days? Very Happy

I thought I'd sorted my stuttering issue out it's been fine, now today it's doing it again. It's extremely jerky at times and I'm not sure why!

Frame rates are perfectly fine and it's on an SSD

Yep, it annoys me as well. I have to keep playing even if I'm tired just to reach a rift gate.
But apart from that, I really like the game. I don't really care about gfx, but it doesn't look too bad imho. Gameplay and mechanics are good, even though it's really hard sometimes -- way harder than it should be.

it was same piss easy with d3 until u hit higher difficulty. The same here in GD. I was breezing and tearing all apart in the 1st playthrough. And on Elite .... i got ripped by first boss with no chanches in beating him. And then i realized that gear actually is VERY important following build. Until that point i was using whatever dropped.

btw i'm playing canister bombs/stun jacks build. The explosions in this game have nice sounds Very Happy

I only played 4 hrs but game seems very linear and monotone.

You have to go through vast huge areas that takes forever to progress to another town that has meaning storywise or until you meet another NPC.

Plus, the story feels rather unaimed, spare and unconnected at the moment.

Does it get better?

well it's not blizzard or cdr game Wink Story here is pretty much non existant. Played throughout all game and even don't remember what i was fighting for or whom against. Actually i've never payed attention to a story in aRPG hack and slash games.

It's like Torchlight, Van Helsing and Victor Vran, there's a story somewhere, but you don't remember what it was all about when you're done. It's a mindless game, kill kill kill loot loot loot. I can't take more than 3 hours of it, but it's damn fun for some reason.

It is nothing like the two games you mention.

They spend A LOT more money on presentation. The result is still shit. D3's story is just as forgettable as GD's, the atmosphere is nonexistent, graphics look washed out, models are low res and the screen is covered in rainbow colored explosions. GD at least comes with a desaturation filter built-in.
