Used to be an Android user and liked the whole open source stuff, being able to customize OS ( thanks CM ), until the 6s, I don't plan to go back soon, because no matter how much ram or cpu they put into phones, androids will eventually shit themselves.

who cares? and tbh i dont think that values are correct. if you look closely to people you will see in the last months more and more people got a windows phone / mobile device in their hand
and i give no fuck to what you think about it btw

Actually it has been reported on many sources that they are losing ground (and adding their tablets is just covering for those stats). The argument you make is as weak like saying: Muslims don't like dogs because you saw a few of them that disliked dogs. 
I know you favour and like Microsoft... but stay in the real world otherwise you fall in the realm of fanboyism and that is just retarded. |

sure they are losing ground, never said the opposite. ms just has to play it right now, we will see how that turns out in 6-10 months, you cant predict anything. but take this a hint: even instagram now has a official native windows 10 universal app (and they said a few months ago that will never happen)

How long is the Windows OS now on the market?
I highly doubt that will get more than 10% market share anytime in the future. That will only happen if the Android system gets bought by MS.

as real contender for other systems? since wp 8 -> end of '12. wp7.5 doenst count, lacked too much features (though it already was a great system)
as i said -> we will see how it turns out and what ms' strategy is (most likely ms = business market; oems = consumer market in the future). its easy as fuck now for devs to "convert" their ios apps to windows plattform, only needs 5-10% amount of coding afterwards than a complete newly written version of it. ms has just to play it right to get the dev to do the little bit of work left. and with the acquision of xamarin ms gained much more power on the mobile market than you guys would imagine. hence we have to wait a few months to see what happens

If it's that easy then where are the official winMobile steam, snapchat, soundcloud, tinder, pinterest, etc etc apps? Or are we supposed to trust and use the unnoficial apps developed by joeyfucknuts1992 from the appstore with our personal data?

cause project islandwood (the ios bridge; project astoria the android bridge was shut down) isnt ready that long time ago. and every "3rd party app" made by rudy hyun (like the tinder stuff etc) is most likely way much better than any official shit, that dude is a genious (even wrote his own snapchat client, which he isnt allowed to publish cause snapchat doesnt want it, and uses it regurlary). but again you have to see that the target group of windows devices isnt 14 years old and wants that snapchat shit etc, though ofc it would be good to have those app to get more people on the train.
about the trust things: permissions are very transparent on windows mobile and shown in the store what each app "needs". ofc you dont use a flashlight app (which is redundant anyway) which wants full access to your contacts,connection,position etc...
@HubU: till the end of the year? that when whatsapp shuts down support for older os versions (most likely because of the rumored implementation of encryption)

Microsoft, outside of windows and other softwares, always failed.
My opinion is that they have:
A) too much of a business image. Everything they do isn't looked on as hip or trendy, but as a fastidious thing you'll have to use to get shit done.
B) no attractiveness for new talents/designers, because they succeeded in what they did best by following some kind of protocole, and not by thinking outside the box.
They forecast the use for an idea years in advance, but fail to capitalize on it because they think "let's make it business, let's make it serious", while people by things because they look fun.

just sales percentage of mobile os'. doesnt say anything about overall used devices. and kinda clear ms/windows devices havent sold that much in january this year cause there were no new devices which people could buy (and everyone who recently (last 6-8 months) bought a 640, which is by far the most sold device if you look at people in the streets, has no reason to change the device cause they get the newest os updates too (as well as almost every other owner of a wp8 phone, even if its a old 920 from december 2012). percentages of december would have been much higher (with the fresh released 950 (xl) and 550 devices). so that picture and numbers dont say anything

So there are windows phones with a good price/performance point.
Are there ways to trick those permissions for apps? With the CM version of android you can and I like that very much considering the ridiculous permissions many apps require.
