Can't remember the voice actor from the first two Batman games though (barely played Origins). But it could also be, that i played them in german.

mimimi, the marketing on german television was annoying for the series, tried it, didnt liked it and had better things to watch in that time (i.e. sopranos). tried it a few years later, still not my type of series. and i also dont like the whole annoying got hype, nor have i really binge watched breaking bad (though i finished a year after it was complete)

Really enjoying the Riddler puzzles and those detective missions so far!
At least on the gamepad they make great use of the sensitive trigger controls.

well i finally finished it.

ill just start by saying its a real dickmove to tie in the 'final' ending to 100%ing the game. I understand that the idea is that batman would have nothing left to do for gotham, and it would certainly be a reward, BUT the riddler shit is far too tedious because theres over 200 of the fucking things. thats just too much busy-work shit to tie into an ENDING. ive gotten everything else done, but i just cant do that riddler shit, its too boring. I loved it at the start with the catwoman things, that was clever and enjoyable, but when he hit me with the 'lulz youre only worth fighting after youve proved yourself worthy by spending 20 hours finding shit ive left around the city', i just went NOPE. dumb. stupid.

I think thats one of the biggest problems with this game. they take something thats fun, and then stretch it out twice or three times longer than it needs to be. the fireman stuff was fun, but there was FAR too many to find, and the final pay-off wasnt worth it. It might have been if there were only half as many to find, but after spending the whole game tracking these guys down, it was a real fizzer.. likewise the militia stuff... started out great but because you were relying on flying or driving endlessly back and forth to find the checkpoints and bombs, it just because frustrating at times, which is a pity because the towers were fun and easy to find, and the vehicles scattered throughout the game were likewise enjoyable little distractions... loved the tank battles re: the mines, but again... took far too long to find them.

and then the ending for all those militia things... fighting against
 Spoiler:

NOW, lets get on to the final two things i really hated...

 Spoiler:

OTHER THAN THAT, i thoroughly enjoyed the game... the combat was really enjoyable, and despite what people were saying when i was disparaging origins lack of creativity and effort, they DEFINITELY managed to improve and build on to the hand to hand combat in this game. The story was interesting, but I really loved
 Spoiler:

but i still cant get past how unsatisfying the ending was by holding it back... it was really interesting and had a pretty solid punch, but then it kinda... disappeared... by not giving a final ending, it undermined a lot of what the game was building up, I feel... super frustrating.

Yeah finished it up too recently (Besides Riddler and New Game+ though I saw the slightly altered intro of NG+ before uninstalling the game.) and I agree that there's a bit too much padding for some of the content in the game, Season of Infamy which I did last was much better in that regard in that most of them featured a bit of extra work before you reached the conclusion but it wasn't dragged out like say the firefighter collecting was.
(Also a nice touch that they alter the content even in the DLC depending on when you do those missions such as if it's after the main games ending.)

(Lots of minor little touches like that, looked up a lot of info on this game and the previous ones and the developers left a ton of clues on events in later games and the like from little files you could zoom-in and read to drawings on blackboards or chatter between different thugs, seems I missed a lot of that in the previous games.)

Overall though despite the stuttering still happening on occasion on longer runs with the game it was very enjoyable if a bit dragged out. Razz

EDIT: There was also comic and movie tie-ins which I've missed entirely.
(Bane's dead, maybe, info in that comic is clear but then in this game it's contradicted again.)

(And Harley Quinn cheated on Joker with Deathstroke at one point, in-between Asylum and City.)

Thought cancelling the Linux and Mac versions of the game meant that development was over but it seems another patch was just released.

EDIT: Just a quick fix for combat speed.

Same here, I can max everything out and maintain a more-or-less 60fps.

It would be worthy of a review now, which would mainly say 'Too much Bat-Tank'.

It is heaps better now tho.

It's running fine for me too on regular HDD. I still have the occasional hiccup with the bat mobile though. I haven't tested the game after today's patch.

Late to the party, but finally finished it. Took me about 55h with doing most of the sidemissions.

I had to watch the (true) ending on Youtube though. As at the end i had no option to initiate the ending, because i still had to complete 3 more Most Wanted missions. I had 9/14 completed and really couldn't bother to destroy all those mines, militia outposts or those 200 riddler tropies. Laughing
As you should get the normal ending with 7/14 too, i guess it just bugged for me.

Well, to make it short: The game was fucking great!
My main gripe was just, that there could have been more and better boss fights, like in the previous games. This time it mostly were short fights where you had to hit the same combo move for a few times to beat the boss.

Still a 9/10 for me, and the best of those Batman games.

The season of infamy bosses weren't too bad though Origins was better in that regard, didn't play much of those side-missions besides the Batgirl one so I don't really know how those hold up.

Now let's kick Supermans ass or whatever they were working on, UE4 upgrade would be nice too as they've kinda over-worked UE3 past it's limits though for all I know the PC version of the next game (If they even do one, Warner doesn't seem to be all too supportive lately.) might end up using even more quirky shaders and fancy effects and kill framerate even deader. Razz

EDIT: A bit like this with character model detail when it's just started loading in.

That isn't an embellishment.
