Mirage: Arcane Warfare is a magic and melee-focused multiplayer FPS from Torn Banner Studios, the creators of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, coming in 2016.
terrible art direction. other than that, looks like a fast paced chivalry expansion.
Agreed, not a fan of this onedirection either . What made Chivalry engaging for me (apart from the physicality of the gameplay itself) was the authenticity of the locations and world. This one looks..rather cheap in a poor-man's Aladdin way, they should have chosen the Lichdom way instead, and give people the oomphy magical powers that they deserve. Agathaaaaa *raises electric staff* bzzzzzap!
Looks like a cross between World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 graphics - both of which are atrocious in the art department. They probably wanted to cut costs or something. Here you go Timmy, here's a crayon, get to filling that brick in!
Having said that - while I enjoyed Chivalry immensely, one of the low points was that they included archers/throwable/ranged shit, which has NO place in a melee combat game. Given that this is magic focused, I'm going to assume that the ranged crap is going to be even more pronounced and lethal, which is a big no-no for me.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Too much ranged spam to be any good. Chivalry was bad enough with all the worthless dicks that just stood at the outskirts of the arena and spammed arrows, this looks like it's going to be a hundred times worse in that regard.
Guess Mordhau is going to be the new reigning champion of melee combat - not sure what the fuck Torn Banner were thinking when they came up with this.

This trash is going to be their undoing. Good thing Mordhau's going to be around to take the crown when they die after releasing this.

One of my younger brothers wanted me to try this (he is a big chivalry fan) so I got myself a key just not to dissapoint him. These things we do for family
Free for 24 hours, you get to keep it and the game's price will drop to $10 after that.
I didn't get around to trying this but to me the game looked fine. It sucks that it didn't sell well, but it's nice of them to come out, acknowledge that and try to breathe life into it with a promo like this.

Mirage: Arcane Warfare has been removed from sale on Steam (and third party marketplaces).
We have made this change in part due to the new European Union privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that comes into effect May 25, 2018. We unfortunately have run out of options for keeping Mirage alive.
Official servers will remain running until May 31. Players will continue to be able to host their own public or private servers after this point.
Thank you for your support and for enjoying Mirage's journey up to now. We look forward to seeing you in our future titles. Our other games, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior, will not be affected.
They...sold the users private data to keep the game alive??
Targeted advertising or something?
I can't see how that could kill a online game otherwise but eh, probably something more to this than what the announcement about the games cancellation has in it. (Immediate cancellation too at that.)
They probably need to make changes server-side or maybe client-side, too, with regards to user data.
Sometimes even the need for a small amount of work is enough to make a studio just close down the whole thing. Anyway this game always was a disappointment. I wanted them to go to the grittier side after Chivalry, they went the usual gay-ass artstyle direction which is a dime a dozen. Ooohhh crazy surreal colours and out of this world characters, yaayyyy. Stfu.
