This is pretty cool. Would have it's uses in certain games where you'd rather be able to control how much you move like in the Battlefield games, moving won't be all or nothing or having to hold shift to walk.

Meh. I can only imagine this being somewhat useful in a handfull of games.
And even in those games i prefer to just press a modifier key to switch between walking/running. Different move speeds also never add to the gameplay, it's just nice to look at.

Or i just use a gamepad, as those kind of games are mostly third-person action games anyways.

Nice idea for a keyboard, but i bet it will flop.

Since I dont like gamepads anymore, I would test this, if this price isnt ridiculous...

Besides, how does this work on a software level? What software even checks for analog output from a keyboard?

But propably won't.

The movement range of a key is so small I doubt it will be of any use having such a small range of analog input.
Mechanical all the way and get yourself a controller if you are consolederp.

Could be useful in racing games for people that don't own a controller or wheel.

Interesting idea, but I am not sure how comfortable I would be with fine tuned control of my keypresses after a prolonged period of time.
Support in games is another thing that could be a big obstacle. Unless done explicitly, their best chance would be mapping to analog sticks, but there is the issue of many games not playing well with simultaneous gamepad/KB+Mouse inputs.

Even if mechanics of it work out great, I can only see this taking off if this becomes a standard for all keyboards at some point.
