VR might die but it has absolutely nothing to do with Kinect. Different audiences, different applications and so on.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
If you pay via paypal, full amount is taken up front. If you pay via credit card, they just put a hold for the full amount then you're charged when it's released.
Tilt brush also comes with it now (c'mon, give us a real game).

Is it the same with Oculus? Cos i selected creditcard when preordering it and i really want it to get paid right away

No idea about the Oculus. But with the Vive, if you pay with card it only puts an authorization hold on the money. It makes it unavailable to you but it isn't given to them until they clear the transaction (i.e. when your shit ships). It's basically how they determine you have enough to pay for it but they don't get the money until they send you the goods.
It looks super cool though. I would probably giggle like a little kid most of the time out of pure joy with this.
I'm more excited for this than when the Rift got announced for preorders. Still sad though, that i currently can't really afford to put 900€ on the table for this.
I looked a bit of that video and then skipped to see if any of the demos really deal with that issue and none of them did. Actually valve did with the moving platform stuff, but that only allows for games on rails. Not going to watch it completely.
Now read some articles on the vive and none of them mentioned this. Im starting to doubt the 'almost every article mentions this' statement.
Now finally have better search terms and found some subreddits, where noone seems to know a good general solution and noone was speaking out of experience (except to deny possible solutions).
Just to clarify. Im talking about this room sized vr with a game world that is bigger than that.
Wouldn't it be possible to just have a combination of artificial locomotion and room scaled freedom?
Like in some skyrim kind of RPG you could move freely within the boundary of your room to fight and dodge enemies but when moving larger distances you would use the trackpad or a button on the controller to move forward.
As far as i know artificial forward locomotion is much less sickness inducing than artificial rotation, so you would do rotations physically and only move forwards/backwards artificially.
Yes, that seems to be one solution. The forward locomotion could also be done on horse back. Maybe that helps.
However I wonder how well a fight in Skyrim would work like this. You would be doging your enemies, which seems cool. But you would also avoid walls not present in the game world, which seems jarring and depending on the situation its impossible to combine these two goals.
Then there are teleportations which actually is in that video above as well... imagine skyrim with portals
Obviously, there is the possibilty of mapping the controller to walking as well. As what the Oculus is intended for. But again, I dont see how you can combine this really well with room vr.
Whats funny is that some people could choose between express and standard shipping while the majority could only choose express, even if from the same country. Standard for germany was like 22€ and express 60€.
When I ordered it only showed express.
