Deadpool 6.5/10
Very entertaining and genuinely funny at parts though it could have profited from a little more plotwise. Better than I expected though.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Spotlight - 8/10
I was familiar with the (very much infuriating ) story, and the movie managed to present it in an excellent and authentic way, never boring, thanks to the rock-solid direction and cast. Especially Mark Ruffalo's performance, brilliant and 100% believable.
You can't go wrong with this movie really. Perhaps I would have liked even more focus when it comes to the curia itself and its reactions, but Spotlight's The Wire-sque investigation was in fact the spotlight, so it's understandable.

Mr Six (2015) (China)
8.5/10
Good chinese movies are quite rare and I have not seen that many of them, but I really liked this one. Premise is kind of old generation vs new generation, nothing new, but the way it's presented is really good and it has a certain cinematic quality that other chinese movies lack. Beijing feels quite realistic as well with its bleak smoggy winter look, and unlike your stereotypical chinese fighting choreography this one has a more realistic tone where characters are not super humans that can take unlimited beatings, to be honest even though it's a "gangster" movie it has quite a low amount of actual fighting or violence, it's mainly a drama.

in the heart of the sea
not.... not as good as i was hoping. It didn't thrill or entertain me as much as I had hoped it would, nor did it hit me on an emotional level like id hoped... a real pity. But it wasn't boring at least, and above all else, the SETTING is fantastic.. I mean we're all aware that whaling for oil as a thing at one point, but I know for my part at least, its not something i've ever really thought about... its just super interesting to me to think that men went to sea for months.. YEARS.. to kill giant sea creatures to harvest oil for us to light our homes and our cities... its just fucking surreal to think about I think... incredibly interesting, so yeah.. loved the setting and the FOCUS on whaling.. would love to see more stories about it, because its a super-interesting aspect of history.
pity the film wasn't all that great.

In the Heart of the Sea 6/10
Saw it yesterday and what shiv says sums up my experience tbh. Only thing that I would add is that I quite disliked the colour tones (I was told they call it: Colour grading?) it was too much for me.
