The serial no. alt has never worked.
You'll need a game code/key, that's the only way.

2 people banned. For all I care you can stay away if you insist on talking about how to scam and the status of your scammery. There are plenty of places on the internet where you can share your experience regarding this, here I will ban you for it.

Talking about vendor sponsored events? Yes. Creating photoshop fakes to scam keys? No. And I can't see anyone being surprised and even more, "act" surprised.

I don't understand. What's the difference between this sort of scam and piracy? Both are illegal activities that result in the user obtaining an illicit copy of software for free. In fact, I recall several other threads that discussed scams and hacks in the past that were considered absolutely fine (including VPN hacks, free games from origin...).
Would, for instance, discussing the creation of one's own steam hacks also be a bannable offense at nfohump?
(Note that I have no interest in discussing this particular scam method... it's just, I don't see why this is suddenly a problem here.)

Difference is that piracy doesn't involve stealing, you make a copy and get it running while the other party doesn't lose anything (unless you're one of those guys that think that a pirated copy equals a lost sale).
Stealing someone's S/N and PPID info likely means that they won't be able to get the game at all while you get a copy. Assuming that in the box there isn't a separate code for the game, but even if that would be the case they'd still miss the extras (the code I used worked for womb raider, crapssasssin's/R6, season pass and buttman).

VPN is definitely not stealing. It is firmly in the grey. Stores get paid the correct amount with legit currency. Publishers are pissed off because a list of countries won't pay double and triple sums for the same digital products.
You can't possibly think video games are priced rationally. The industry is celebrating the digital age. With no physical copies and the logistics costs, booklets and so forth, games still cost the same, sometimes more - then you add the DLC and microtransactions compared to when games felt complete on release day. There's never been more money in this. There's absolutely no /sadface from me with regards to this. We now see geo-locks and more implemented to keep the insane amounts of money flowing in while some algorithm spews out cd-keys we buy for full price.
You don't compare this to piracy, or stealing. It isn't stealing, its real customers trying to find the best prices, just like publishers try to push prices up more and more customers will seek optional ways of attaining games. If anything high prices pushes people towards piracy; publishers would have lost tons of sales hadn't it been for the use of VPN, they just don't wrap their minds around it because they're so intoxicated by raking in money for cd-keys, which once the production and update costs of a game has been covered, is nothing but a line of numbers sold and redeemed by customers through a service such as Steam and yields tons of cash for as long as it is available online.
@Prandur I can't believe someone on this forum would attack the use of VPN, it is utterly depressing to read. How about lower prices for all - "and say no to all that extra money?" - no way that's going to happen looking at it from the publishers' point of view.
They can choose between reasonable prices that makes sense given the development of the digital sales platform, VPN or piracy.

It was about forgery of documents, that's where the mods drew the line.

I was talking about the dude drawing lines between what you're in reference to and VPN, which is just wrong entirely.

So much text for nothing. This is a perfect example of a Straw man. The use of VPN is not the subject here and its not what Pump Action meant. What are you talking about? When did someone here ever criticize the use of VPN to buy/activate their games? Or are you quoting the wrong post?
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I like my EVGA SC ACX 2.0, it's very silent I only have a slight coil whine if I disable vsync, but this card is fast enough for every game at 60+fps, so leaving vsync on is no biggie
