is it safe to played a cracked version with steam open? I finally decided to try this last night because ARK's performance is in the toilet these days, and noticed it's actually grabbing info from steam.

whats rust like? just a general consensus? the last time I played rust it was a browser based beta thing, was god awful.

is it grindy? I don't mind grind but is it ARK level grindy? cause thats wearing thin.

Looking for something new.

It was good at release, played it for like 250 hours over first 2 weeks. I think they have ruined it now though, made it too complicated etc.

It feels like you have to dedicate your life into it to even get anything built, it was much more simple and faster at start which was better if you ask me. You could jump on a server and be wrecking people within the hour.

Got banned from like 3 servers by building a massive tower next to small rad and just denying everyone access to it 24/7.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Damn, oh well. I need something along these lines but not as grindy. Ark bores me now, it was good then they keep adding bigger unbalanced timesinks. I rented a dedicated server but soon got bored of that too.

Vanilla rust requires as much dedication as a real job does, if not even more. I recommend modded servers, they're a time (and life) saver.

Anyone still playing this?

I picked it up for €7 and playing on a PvE (unmodded) at the moment to get the hang of things without dying all the time. I quite like it - it runs very smooth even with everything maxed out, nights are truly dark (rare in games) and I love exploring. PvP might be very interesting but I assume you need to find a "clan" to join otherwise you're in for some quite beating ...

The game is ok... the hard part is finding a server/admin that wont put his "friends" first and portal them everywhere and shit to get the better of you... GL

Why would you still buy this POS when you there are much better open-world survival games out there?

Well,Gender&Racebaiting issues aside, RUST isn´t that bad of a survival game. Why do you call this one a POS and what would you suggest as a "much better alternative", taking into account that you also heavily dislike DAYZ:SA ?

very strange choice you make, as all those are far better than rust right now, if I had to put them in order of interest. I like the way you obviously grade the games by the shitty performance you must have in them Very Happy

From all the EA games I've play'd:

Rust & H1Z1 play'd the most, yeah used both with and without hax.. Depended on timescale. (and I dont give a shit. Trolling online guys, specially in RUST, is AMAZINGLY FUN. This Alistair dev came up to me many times, got banned over 40 times, and garry decided too hunt my main steam acc, to ban it. Haven't used anything on main ever =) Anyhow, great times with the devs this way.)

Rust is by far the one with the worst performance compared to H1Z1, but... Rust is more enjoyable. Building system much better, but graphic wise I'll go for H1Z1..

Still playing Rust every week a couple hours, still a very enjoyable game with friends. The network performance SUCKS though, but.. once u find a way through for yourself, you'll do fine.

Hey guys,

my friends are running a fresh server and we'd be happy if you guys would join us!

we're using a couple mods, but not too powerful stuff. Z-Levels, better mining and stuff, home points, day/night voting and x3 faster than vanilla.
