you could easily buy it cheaper and buy a second copy for a friend or so.
it's like burning money. why would you do that even with enough money? i don't get it

I am pretty sure we will see some kind of promotion for this before the release. Not by Asus, but by some other company.
First one so far is Logitech.
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200

Like i previously said, if some of the players I enjoyed beta playing will buy it, I will make a compromise and buy it, but not full price, instant-gaming or something like that. Even if only Bobsy, wald, herry, EyePatch, Stefan and MightyMan i'd be ok.
Also, let us see how this open beta will handle.

I picked it up from GMG with the 23% discount in December, but then they had the 25% code in January. They credited me the difference. THEN they had the VIP discount later that same month, so they credited me AGAIN. Long story short, came out to $38.99 (USD) after all was said and done, which I consider acceptable. Would I pay $60? Hell no. I was willing to pay ~$45 but I wouldn't go over that. Even if all I do is play to max level and then dink around for another month or two (like I did with SWTOR, GW2, ESO, etc.) I'll be satisfied, but truth is I already have 3 friends getting it (they bailed on me in the other games for the most part) so fuck it. Also, yeah, you can get a copy with a Logitech mechanical if you're so inclined.
Also, as has been mentioned in this thread, rumor has it an open beta may appear on the 16th of this month. That should give some of you guys plenty of time to check the game out. Not sure if I trust the rumor after how ridiculously closed off this beta was (not to mention it was months behind the main-line build/version and they removed or reduced a lot of stuff like enemy groupings). I played with friends and it felt like Borderlands mixed with Rainbow Six: Vegas which makes it cool for a quick romp anyway. I don't know if it'll have lasting appeal, although the Dark Zone was an absolute blast! I spent more time playing the weekend beta than I have in entire SP games so color me curious.

Read my sig if you want another laugh.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Well the thing is, they are only keeping one corridor because it would be kind of unfair to add more and push it so far away from the console audience. But it's good to have dedicated PC options for this game such as mouse controls. All this elitism is getting toxic!

The IGN crowd made me see the light. this is the first ever third person shooter RPG, and I will be missing out by skipping it.
I had to preorder after that.

My impression of the game after a couple of hours of gameplay was pretty terrible. But it grew on me as I got to explore the city, see the echoes, listen to the side stories and get into the Dark Zone and fight against other players. There is a weird blend in this game of extremely awesome features with some questionable ones that will immediately separate players into those who love it and those who dislike it, with no way in between. For the most part the fault is carried by the combat system which will get a lot of players upset for wasting a realistic setting and using the Tom Clancy name on a game that isn’t realistic and to a degree I can understand that. It’s upsetting seeing the Tom Clancy brand slapped on every product just to increase sales when the game is not representative for the brand. But I knew what to expect from the first gameplay video of the game and never fooled myself that The Division will be more realistic than that trailers showed. Accepting the combat, which isn’t bad and can be enjoyable, opens up a game that might be worth playing. The setting is great, the story has potential, the PvP is slightly different from what’s generic for this genre and ironically enough the game looks amazing even after the downgrade.
There seems to be a lot of value in The Division and it will probably take at least a few weeks if not more to experience most of what this game has to offer at release, but things won’t stop there. Ubisoft has promised updates with free content that will expand the end-game content and there is also a Season Pass (obviously) which will provide three expansions with newer game mechanics. But these are all promises.
I had a question that goes unanswered even after playing the Beta. How much there is to do outside of the campaign and the Dark Zone? Because the entertainment value of the content experienced in the Beta comes from scaling it down to the small portion of the game we got to access. At launch, when the game’s world fully opens up, the variety of content seen in the Beta together with what was unavailable might not be enough to stop The Division from getting repetitive in the long run. So, while there is a positive vibe in this article, without having a definite answer to this question I’m afraid that purchasing The Division at this point is nothing more than a gamble.

Well they did indeed make the PC version independently of console versions. Been known since the one announcement of the PC version.
