Get a closer look at the adrenaline-pumping, single-player campaign in the latest trailer for DOOM – the all-new FPS from id Software arriving worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Friday, May 13th. As the iconic DOOM Marine, you wake to learn that the Union Aerospace Corporation’s facility on Mars has been decimated and overrun by hordes of demons. Humanity’s survival rests in your hands – and your hands alone. Fight Like Hell.
In DOOM’s campaign, there is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.
Repetitive instadeath animations aside looks very good. Well done.

I wonder if the ingame time stops when the game is playing those death animations. They seem very long for a fast paced action game and disrupt the flow.
It's gonna be a huge disappointment though if the campaign is less than 10 h
Surprised it's released so quickly !
why do YOu need a longer sp campaign for in a non rpg game?
Riddick and hl2 were all 10-12(tops) hour games
Most games these days are too boring to even last 6 hours....

Those automatic 2 second long finishing moves really need to be optional (in SP, at least), they stand out and have no reason to exist in a Doom game. They just break the flow, it's yet another case of unneeded desire to follow the cinematic route just for the oomph factor ( most visceral game I've ever played, like Halo but more brutal - xXx~[FGT]CptPricerulez99~xXx)
Hope we get a FOV slider too, can barely see what's going on with those gigantic things that cover the screen. The visuals also seem rather washed out with poor textures and lighting, but then again it's (nu)idTech so nothing new under the sun.
Maybe by the time the game ships on May 13th the game will have shotgun shells that haven't already been fired. You'll notice that when the shotgun is reloaded, the primers on the shells have already been struck.

That being said my digital, legitimate or not, library has no covers so I couldn't care less.

Shame they don't use revenant cover. its much better.
But this one is not bad. someone posted a hires version and there was an amazing amount of detail in the image

new "update" for the alpha on steam -> deleted the whole local content
think beta incoming soon
Yeah and it's a bit problematic how Steam updates can remove content as a "patch", even more so when it happens because of a bug with the file repository so you see a new update scheduled and download it and it deletes almost the entire folder minus any files you've added yourself or otherwise aren't part of the Steam file index for that game.
Anyways, I wonder what the beta will contain?
(Multiplayer probably, perhaps a map editor test?)
Usually you can take statements like that and slash them by 25%-50% to get the real number.
Haha yeah, playtime inflation is a naughty beast
~7 hours would still be alright for a game like this though, I mean it beats the direct competition (Call of Duty)
All jokes aside, I really hope the couch-factor isn't too strong here..that's my #1 fear!
