well, obviously, not all pirated copies are lost sales, but some seem to be.

even on rin, in the tomb raider thread, you can see people talking about where is the cheapest place to buy because they are impatient with the lack of a crack.

so obviously, enough pirated copies are sales, that they care.

You know what ? Publishers hate this grey markets with cheap keys even more so then piracy since they know they actually lose Money there.
Denuvo and shit is just to keep the stupid Shareholders happy but the companys know that grey Markets and second hand is where they actually lose Money.

I think our very own nfohump forums in the past year or so are proof that protections like this are at least somewhat effective. Just look at the number of people that pre-ordered this game (through cheap keys, granted, but it's still a sell), something that until not too long ago was considered heresy in the pc gaming section. Especially for a game like this, that has been delayed due to payed temporal exclusivity by Microsoft. Just that fact would have been enough to raise a chorus of "fucking shill developers sucking ms dick, I'm not supporting this shit, isodemo all the way!!!" if it wasn't for the fact that you can't actually get an isodemo.

Now, if this is actually a good thing or a bad one, in the larger context of the well being of the pc gaming industry, I have no clue. Time will tell I guess.

People been buying lots of games here for a while now. Denuvo has just happened to be on games that a lot of people want to play and quite possibly would have bought anyway. Now, if Denuvo was on something shitty like the annual COD or AC, I doubt a lot of people here would suddenly start buying those.

Most of people now is already grown up and have a job.

$9 RottR is cheap, so why not buying it ?

and All the talk of cracking site nowadays is how to find a cheapest game available, not "is there a crack?"

Piracy has died in 2015 since Denuvo come.

If we take a look at companies that use Denuvo, we'll see that their products - or a significant number of their products - are somehow not that well received by the customers (you can also use the unremarkable term to define their quality - I, personally can use the terms crap and insulting for some of their games):

• EA
• Ubisoft
• Square Enix
• Warner Bros

Now, what does that tell you...?! Smile

After playing Batman Arkham craport, Far Grind Shallow 4, Assassin's Derp 14 and Thi4f... you want me to TRUST these companies and blindly buy their next games?! Rolling Eyes Smile

Absolutely.

Even if rumor, I can't say "I hope you're right", though. I can't care less about the next FarCry 2 game.

However, I'd like to see more Valiant Hearts and Child of Light - like games.

Some article here about Denuvo.

I finished it, 100% map completion. It's a pretty good game in terms of gameplay. The story feels a lot like in the first game, predictable and not very interesting. At least the ending opens up some new stuff and sets the next destination.

Are you serious? Just because a few games using Denuvo haven't been cracked yet, it doesn't necessarily mean that the piracy has died.

No, this has been like this the same time I joined the Hump. Just because you didn't pay attention to that it doesn't mean "the times they are a changing" Those who would've iso demoed it (and only that) probably haven't got the game or got it for "free" anyway. neeger put it quite short and nicely if you haven't thought of that. Yes, a game that was meant to be for Xboner only, woah, big deal, PC got it in January, that's a pretty short span, which I and many others can live with considering we pay even less than console boys do. But what I really hate are others that think they should have a say in what other people do with their life and cash, or how they set their priorities. Guess what changed? Many games are dirt cheap these days, very well made or have some other kind of way to get them through other methods, that's also why they get bought (and mostly because someone enjoys game number x!). Everyone here is free to feel uncomfortable about shady methods in the gaming industry (and SHOULD do so!) and it's likely 95% here do, but don't act like one of those that points fingers put any significance to this by not pirating or buying those games...

Ain't buying shit. They can go suck donkey dick. I cant justify paying for anything in this country, especially games.

If it comes to no more cracked games on pc ill retire to pirating ps4 games instead by buying used and reselling after playing.

Besides, dont have that much time to play anymore. Last game i finished a game was 10 years ago. Just install for some eyecandy altf4 delete 10 mins later.

Visa and Mastercard work well though...

By the way WHY being in Europe I must pay STEAM 44,99€ for this game and a guy in India pays to STEAM 999.00 INR = 13.59 EUR???

Why games on STEAM don't have the same prices everywhere since it is the same platform and game???

I fucking HATE capitalism!

Strong first post...

But Steam has recently started regional pricing of games in the Asia. They have always been on the cheaper side since it's an emerging market

Gaming is an expensive hobby, especially on PC, and hardware in Asia is extremely expensive compared to the EU and US

Blasted through this on the weekend, had a lot of fun. I already loved the last Tomb Raider, and this was more of it, which was great.

~22hrs for a playthrough on normal, 81% completion (all tombs cleared and baba yaga dlc). Should be quite a lot more on higher difficulties, I never died in battle, only to dropping off ledges.

I was quite sad when it ended and would gladly have it go on and on and on, which is a good thing.
