This update works both for normal version of the game and for extended
edition. It also includes Exile DLC and turns normal version into extended.
Interesting, I wonder if they made it more like Shadow Warrior with this, would probably play it if so. There were some things I hated in Hard Reset that kept me from giving up on it pretty early every time I tried to play it.
Looks like they didn't rewrite the story. One of the worst stories in modern games I didn't understand a single thing.

Hard Reset: Redux
The world as we know it has ceased to exist. Surrounded by vast, hostile wastelands, the remnants of humankind's dwindling population live within the closed city of Bezoar, but the walls have been breached. As a CLN soldier, you are all that stands between the hive mind machines of The Sanctuary, and total extinction.
Combining unapologetically over-the-top destruction and a dark cyberpunk setting, the breakout FPS from Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 1 & 2) gets reenergized for modern audiences with an upgraded visual engine and rebalanced gameplay, along with new enemies and weaponry (cyber-katana!).
Hard Reset Redux is coming soon to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

But it doesn't look like it has any new levels and I fear the "rebalanced gameplay" means "easier". At least we always have the original
I imagine this time it's going to run better as well similar to what happened with the DX11/64bit version of Shadow Warrior.

"Like Nothing On Earth"
We don't know yet. They've already given the expansion for free so maybe it will be like that again or maybe it won't be because they finally have to make some cash.

I could never get into it and I loved Painkiller. This was just too stiff for me. And made my head hurt for some reason

I think we have the answer right there
I don't know how the hell this would be played with a gamepad, some battles are brutal.
Come on guys. This was a weak, mellow game, that even the devs themselves said it was more like a tech demo. The game originally isn't some fast shooter with elaborate level design, it has moderate moving speed and primitive, simplistic combat design. Lame robots charging head on and thats it. The game had gamepad support day one on pc, it was designed for that from the start, but they probably didn't had the funds to port it to consoles then and concentrated on Shadow Warrior instead. That one too went to consoles. Also SW2 was only demoed with a pad so far.
Brand New Cyber-Katana Weapon: A powerful new weapon which provides an effective close range combat option
Brand New Enemy Type: Various variants of a threatening new Cyborg Zombie now lie in wait for unsuspecting players
New Quick Dash Move: Provides players with a new movement option in battle to help avoid incoming attacks and enemies
Enhanced Visuals: The game has been updated to the newest version of the RoadHog engine and includes improved lightning and effects
Improved Performance: Enjoy faster Load times, a new Quicksave feature and full joypad support
Rebalanced Gameplay: The game now includes improved difficulty levels and better pacing
Different Enemy Placement: Enemies are introduced differently throughout the game, and provide a new challenge for even the most seasoned Hard Reset veteran
Graphics look worse than the version from 2011.
Also dat framerate.

the editor made a mistake when he rendered the video out, as the gameplay footage itself was in beautiful 1080P and silky smooth 60FPS (like it should be). We're working on fixing the issue now, and we'll be uploading the new one soon
