According to Fox, the project will center on a military hero who encounters a troubled return to the U.S., compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. I’m told the hero in question (aka the ‘new Jack Bauer’) will be African-American; casting is currently underway.
“There’s a time jump, a new organization, a completely different story,” said Fox co-chairman and CEO Dana Walden at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena. “It’s a contemporary story about the potential to activate sleeper cells in the United States. There are nods in the pilot to prior CTU agents, but no ongoing characters.” |

Fox's 24 reboot casts Straight Outta Compton actor to star

Unlike the first version of the series, where Jack Bauer (Sutherland) was basically a lone wolf protagonist for nine seasons, the new 24 also features a female co-lead role (not yet cast). If given a series order, 24: Legacy will also play looser with the original show’s distinctive “real time” format, with a 12-episode order instead of 24 episodes. |

Also, couldn't they get a guy that looks like special forces or an army type in general? This guy looks gay, his face is like he has girly makeup on, or applies cream like a bitch every night ... shitty acting, too, from what I can tell.
I only watched the first season of 24 before nopeing the fuck out of that contrived/forced shit. (bad guys just killing everyone as if the USA is some failed state with no police or any semblance of order lol) But still ...
