Well Ur Dragon was a joke for me, as he was just afk every fight as soon as i stood on that cliff Laughing

My party level was ~85 at Daimos. Fight was okay. Had to do use several consumables. But he never really did too much damage with one hit.
His second form is said to be more challenging though. Which you get if you go back to his place for more kills.

Second time through Bitterblack is quite a difference as it's not just the boss that changes, you'll encounter newer and much stronger foes as well plus some additional notice board tasks become available (Even a extra boss fight.) though it's much harder as a result. (Not quite as hard as entering either of the two arena type areas with the fiend lure in the inventory heh but some of the encounters were pretty damn tough.)

EDIT: Reward wise you now have a chance to get the best stuff in the game (Level 3 cursed stuff when purified, though it costs a lot of those rift crystals.) but at this point you've likely killed everything else in the game so besides the seneschal there's not much to use it on unless you plan for a New Game+ playthrough as well. Razz

@JBeckman
Does the second time count as soon as you enter BBI again after killing Daimos?
Or must you start a NewGame+ ?

The dungeon resets every time you kill the Daimon, it also locks so you can't use any of the shortcuts you've previously unlocked (Though the in-dungeon locked doors remain unlocked.) to skip part of it, chests and the like respawn as well so you'll get a ton of those cursed trinkets as a result if you do decide to brave it again, plus you can get more moon crystals as well for those special doors for even better loot.
(So you can do both runs immediately - or more. - but it's not exactly easy and after going through all that there's the Daimons second form too although I heard a certain other being is even worse.* )

WTF Embarassed
Not sure if will kill Daimon again now.

And yea Death is a sick fucker with that instant kill of pawns. grinhurt
I can damage him enough now though with my Magic Archer. I just buff my magic attack and spam Richochet Arrow, while keeping range from him and setting my pawns to passive mode.

Easy way is to spam blast arrow 10x skill with ranger and just stun lock it, max and over weight each pawn with blash arrows, splash 4 conq seals and he is dead in 1-2mins

Death is pretty easy if you are solo. Though keeping care of your idiot pawns so they don't get scythed is annoying.
Got him down to half of his health so far, but i won't continue chasing him. Because:

Killed Daimon for the second time now with level 120. Was a rather rageworthy fight for me where i wasted 3/4 of my consumables. My damage also sucked in the beginning, but for some reason got better later on. The whole fight probably took me nearly 30min. Laughing
Got some nice weapon and armor though.

But i will finish the vanilla main quest now and be done with the game.
Had about 65 hours of fun with it.

I played 51 hours and I'm only level 35. I must be playing this wrong. Explains why I'm actually bored out of my mind with this... nice running simulator with a shit story to "not" keep you invested.

And the equipment slowly starts to look ridiculous... japanese ridiculous.. which doesn't help with immersion. Besides all the hell(s)pawns out of japanese loli hell running around in the world and other abominations.

Allways hoping for the next big monster to show up is quite the gamble.

Are you using the eternal ferrystone?
Are you using the portcrystals? (did u place them somewhere?)
There is a mod on nexusmods that gives u infinite stamina for running(made me love the game so much more)

And finished. The ending was okayish.

Overall i really enjoyed the game as a lite mix between Dark Souls and TES games.

I am mostly surprised by this really good port though. After nearly 3.5 years the graphics with Reshade or ENB still look awesome. The textures sure can compete with most current gen games. Only the environment can look a bit clunky at times. The performance was stable too at 60 fps all the time.

A real shame Dragons Dogma Online is not released for the western (yet). A greater shame though is, that it's still unclear if a Dragons Dogma 2 will happen. Sad

I agree. For me this game is the first very postive surprise this year, I did not have this on my radar.
Sure, there are lots of generic quest and a bit too much running around for my taste, but I love the attention to details in this game, the different look of all the armor and weapons, the very detailed character creation, the use of the lantern and the effects of day/night, and the fighting and the character system, of course. First I thought to make it possible switching your "career" completely is a bad idea, but now I think its great - it saves the game from getting too repetitive and boring. After every find of a good new item, weapon or armor not fitting to your actual class you can return to the tavern, change class and test the new gear at once. Also the use of different passive skills from other classes is a nice motivation bonus to try out mixed builds. I am "only" lev. 51 and did kill the first dragon two days ago making my bow "dragon-forged", but still I frequently switch between using bow/one-handed weapons/two-handed weapons/dagger and so on - and its fun. My favorite is the Assassin class until now. Farming the dungeon on the Finstergram-island brings up new gear when I am not in the mood continuing the main quest.

If this were a game by Bethesda I am sure these comfort functions like having all items in access from the tavern or the smith or sending items to the camp would not be included and had to be added by user mods....

this game is like a weird girlfriend. its quirky and hard to understand. it puts you through terrible things that you never thought you would survive, but when you do (and you always can find a way), it just strengthens your bond. your love grows stronger as you grow stronger as a result of the hardship shes inflicts upon you.

So I'm lvl 40 at the moment and still doing Stage 3 quests and... well for the last 10 lvl or so I literally steamrolled every enemy the game threw at me. I've stopped taking new pawns after lvl 33 and I still have mostly stage 2 gear. Does it get harder? I think I did too much lvl at the beginning by just roaming and killing everything I could find Crying or Very sad

After 95 hours I think I'm finally done. Bitterblack Island 2.0 is now mostly a steamroll and I basically farm chest drops for random stuff I won't use. I'm level 132 and don't see myself grinding to 200. Maybe I will, I dunno, but I feel like it's time for a break.

The best parts of the game for me are long journeys to do quests where you are fighting your way there, getting ambushed by stuff, etc. It feels like a real adventure, I can't remember any other game that gave me that sense. It feels like you are in the fellowship of the ring or something. The dungeons were excellent too, BBI and Everlong, reminded me of Diablo style dungeon crawling.

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/dragon-s-dogma-dark-arisen-is-capcom-s-fastest-selling-pc-game/0162379
Quote:
The PC version of RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is Capcom’s fast-selling game for the platform thus far.

The title – which debuted on January 15th on Steam – is also one of the publisher’s Top Three best-selling PC releases.

Dark Arisen is an enhanced version of 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma, which launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013.

Capcom does note that though Dark Arisen is its fast-selling PC title so far, the initial sales of the console versions were higher as they benefited from a full marketing push pre-launch.

We are extremely pleased with the performance of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. It is our fastest-selling PC title to date, thanks to an audience eagerly waiting for it, and us delivering to the level of quality gamers were expecting,” marketing director Antoine Molant told MCV.

“Based on a similar sales period, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is in the Capcom's Top Three PC releases after these few weeks, along with Resident Evil and Dead Rising 3.”

ok, so finally went to BBI on lvl 55... oh man I'm getting my ass handed over to me big time Very Happy love it so far! just kept going down (did not kill the giant cyclops). I think I stopped on the Eliminator (the guy with a Minotaur helmet), killed it on the 2nd approach... and his carcass attracted some overpower ogre and I was like RUN FOOLS, RUUUUN! I went back a lil bit and killed a bunch of corrupted pawns and took another key... just to get introduced to a dragon which basically 1hits everybody Very Happy awesome game is still awesome!

Try playig as Magick Archer if it's too hard. It's Richochet skill makes fast work of most enemies. Also ranged classes sadly seem to be much more useful in this game.

Probably the worst are those horrible pawn lines written by Captain Obvious himself, like:

"Wolves fear fire!"
"Be careful not to be drenched in water"
"Tis dark during the night"
"We share this road with peddlers and other travellers"
"The sea is much closer than it looks"

Once you hear them for the hundredth time in an hour, you will feel the urge to unscrew your head from your neck.
