It's a shame they never fixed the weirdness of how grenades worked from the Q2 engine. They improved upon that engine by so much, but whenever you threw a grenade it was just as shitty.
To me, it isn't. Yes, it's a decent title, but when I played it around 2000, I didn't understand what the all the buzz was for (one of the reasons I had almost nil excitement for the Black Mesa mod). It's a game I only remember when it gets mentioned on this forum.
HL2, on the other hand, was magnificent. One of the best shooters I've played.
i think he tried to point out, that when u play a game when it gets out (not years later) u get amazed of the fresh next gen graphics and the possibility's of the future, then when u get nostalgic about that one game that was the best and u replay it a decade later, u dont play the same game, cause the mix of old graphics and nostalgia makes you very dissapointed.
just try a game u played at launch that is at least a decade old, works best at the first 3 games that made u gamer 4 life and u will see the point that is made, some games age very well, some become just a tragedy when u replay them
