I've only played for 10 minutes, but this game is driving me insane.
I love the concept of how the conversation system works, but it's just too fucking unforgiving... most of the time the conversation options disappear before I could even READ them all, let alone decide which one to pick.
I don't know... maybe I just have the reflexes of a stoned sloth, but the game just "goes too fast" for me, and every time I'm out of time and I can't say what I wanted to say it angers me to no end.
EDIT: case in point... I missed the opportunity to tell Jonas to boost me over the fence here, 'cos I took too loong:
Spoiler: | |
and now I can't trigger the conversation again, nor can I leave this location or do anything else beside throwing rocks in the sea and sitting by the fire. Did I fuck up and need to reload?? Or am I missing something?
EDIT 2: Yeah, missing that conversation seems to just get the game stuck, had to restart from the checkpoint....

It's happened to me too quite a few times The_Leaf, scripts just remain untriggered/characters get stuck for no reason, and the only way is to restart the specific area. It sucks, but at least it's not permanent since reloading always "fixes" it.
As for the game itself, I started up the yarr out of curiosity without knowing anything about it, and ended up finishing it in one sitting. It's one of those games...you know, that made me feel old
As a grumpy man, I found irritating the fact that you just wander around listening to angsty teenagers with beanies and blue hair who constantly ramble, asking redundant questions and ignoring both logic and the obvious, all while clicking on scripted events on the screen. No puzzles either, too hard and time-consuming for this generation, with the pseudo-bubble-like dialogues that give you that usual fake sense of being in control (when you're not).
And yet, despite everything, I did enjoy the concept, the pleasant art-style and the atmosphere. Too bad the promising premises led to a disappointing development story-wise and ending (a wasted opportunity imo). I'd give it six tumblrs out of ten, for the effort

Very interesting game story was really cool would be interesting to know Spoiler: | if you can actually escape the time loop for good | Btw did you Guys know the Reflections in the Mirrors you encounter are actually other players and you see the choices they made at the end? and yes this works even in the yarr version.
I used the Codex release so my girl is called Codex
