Meh, doesnt work in 21:9 according to TotalBiscuit.. will wait to see if they patch it in and wait for a sale.

Played it on PS3, it's decent, on pair with the The Worlds 1-2 games, maybe a bit better. Nothing you play for story or quests, just like the TW games..

It's much better the TW games where terrible in game play and story this one has at least a serviceable story and great combat.

I kind of enjoyed the TW games at the time, good selection of different environments, something which lacks here i think. Though this is the better game when it comes to combat and again, overall its probably the better game, especially if i compared both today and dont go by memory.

The Worlds? Like in Two Worlds?

Yeah I kinda liked those games too although I'm not finding them to be all that similar to Dragons Dogma though the way NPC's speak has some similarities to the first game with the whole "Olde English" thing.
(Not that you'd ever see it normally but the monsters doing their own thing could be pretty funny at times too. - http://postimg.org/image/hbn1cjzz3/ )

Shame Reality Pump didn't have the budget to really polish up those games, particularly the second game and it would be nice with a third game though after Raven's Cry x2 I'm pretty sure they're near bankruptcy although they probably wouldn't admit that themselves.
(Spending millions on the first game and that fails, remaking it for even more money and that fails too.)

And it seems Capcom is sticking with the set release date, some ten hours from now if I got it right, seeing as it leaked a early unlock would have been nice but it won't happen.

Human projectile! Razz

Well there's some techniques were it could be useful I suppose, wonder what happens if you keep throwing them off cliffs though.
(Teach your main pawn all sorts of "wrong" stuff like that and then rent them out to other players? Very Happy )

The story isn't even that bad compared to the average trite we get in this industry, so not entirely sure why everyone slams it constantly. Takes a while to get going, but that's hardly an issue.

Then again, the same journos pretend Bethesturd games don't have beyond awful writing, so they obviously don't pay attention to anything.

But yeah, the game is all about combat and exploration. Thankfully.

I really liked the story, can't remember that at the time, there was anything with a better one around.

And yes, still haven't seen anything like the "twist" for a long time.

I guess the story gets a bit broken up if you play the missions in the wrong sequence, and if you miss alot of side quests, you miss alot of stories. That is because if you do a main quest, all prior sidequests can become undoable.

The story is good but sparse.

And then the thing is, I've seen reviews from people who didn't actually complete the game.
They played to what they thought was the end... and didn't even notice that it kept going.

So guys, just keep playing. Get to the actual end.

Whenever you want.

I'd recommend getting to level 40 or so before venturing there for the first time, but you can just leave at any time, so just give it a go whenever you feel like it. It's the best part of the game, so I pity the fools that give up on the game before they get there.

If anyone cares:
Bought from Plati.ru for ~10.59€:
http://plati.ru/itm/dragon-s-dogma-dark-arisen-pre-order-steam-key/2046209

Received the key directly. It included the preorder bonuses (Artbook and Soundtrack).
As expected i had to use a VPN to activate the key. But after that i can download it just fine. So i hope, i can play it just fine soon too. Very Happy
In theory it should work, according to SteamDB.
Thanks.

Did they make any changes to the gameworld and gameplay with the port? Or did the expansion add anything to the original game?

Here's some old changelist from Capcom. No idea how complete it is.

Quote:
Player

-Various attacks and skills for all weapons have been rebalanced for all weapons.

Enemies

-Made the Ur-Dragon corpse's collision boundary smaller so players can now pick up drop items more easily.

-Undead enemies will now come out of the ground with higher defense stats (super armor mode).
-When Saurians die after being knocked down, they will now use a special death animation for when they are on the ground.

-Goblin Shamans will appear in the Witchwood.

-Eliminators will appear on the Tainted Mountain.

-Pyre Saurians will appear on the Tainted Mountain.

-Golden Knights and Silver Knights will appear in the Everfall (before the destruction of Gran Soren).

-Gorecyclopes (condemned type) will appear in the Shadow Fort.

-Living Armor will appear in the Catacombs.

-Wyverns (strong type) will appear at Bluemoon Tower.

-Wyrms (strong type) will appear at the Watergod's Altar.

-Drakes (strong type) will appear in the Everfall after the destruction of Gran Soren.

Pawns

-Adjusted how often pawns will talk by spacing out less important lines; in effect, making them seem to talk less.

-Adjusted and balanced the equipment and skills of all of the high-level pawns that are available to a player when they're playing offline.

-Adjusted how much it costs to hire a pawn that is higher-leveled than yourself down to a more realistic scale.

-Added a Monthly ranking to the pawn's Top Ranked section.

NPCs

-You will not gain Affinity with Assalam simply by talking to him anymore.

Items & Equipment

-Adjusted how much Ferrystones cost and how much they sell for. (Purchase price: 20000 >5000 | Sell price: 3500>1250)

-Adjusted how much Premium Rings and Premium Earrings cost. (Purchase price: 1,500,000>150,000 Rift Crystals | Purchase price 3,000,000>300,000 Rift Crystals)

-Tweaked stat increases for weapon upgrades (increases weaker upgrades, decreases ones that were too strong). Tweaks affect 68 different weapons.

-Dramatically increased base stats for 12 weapons obtainable by defeating the Dragon.

-Improved base stats for 10 Magick Bows

World

-A Portcrystal that allows players to return to Cassardis has been added just outside Cassardis's gate

-A character/warp point that allows players to travel between Bitterblack Isle and Cassardis has been added to Cassardis's pier.

-Added a removable Portcrystal to the following areas: The Gran Soren Everfall (before a certain plot point. . . .), The Shadow Fort, The Witchwood, Hillfigure Knoll.

The main draw of the expansion is obviously Bitterblack Isle.

How to make isodemo save compatible with the steam version

Quote:

Ok, I could convert a save from a pirated version to steam using a tool:http://steamcommunity.com/app/367500/discussions/0/451850849185904798/
Just unpack the save to xml, both the pirated version and a steam version, edit the steamID from the pirated version xml, you can get your steamID from the save that the steam version created, just pack everything and you good to go.

But it looked bad, as it were just skin textures. Without any nipples or a vagina. Sad
