In any case, devs are still putting final spit and polish on it. So yes, while the game is more less complete, expect a Day One patch. |

Check the steam_api.ini in the gamedir, you have the exact path there.

Any way to cancel a quest? I have to escort Adaro to The Shadow Fort but it seems the road is rather dangerous for my low level characters and now this douche is following me everywhere lol

Should be able to if you use the Noticeboard again.

Ah I see..
Btw regarding this quest..found it on forums
Quote: |
The villager approaches you outside one of the encampment entrances (whichever you leave by) and tells you about it. I didn't immediately go back to Cassardis and talk to Adaro my second playthrough and the quest hook vanished due to completion of the hydra head escort.
As long as you have accepted the quest though, you can escort the hydra with no worries. However progressing further in the MQ might cancel it.
This game has a hidden chapter/act structure Reaching Gran Soren is one such chapter transition. Usually when you move on to the next chapter (the game doesn't tell you so, except in one occasion), all the NPC quests, like this one, from previous chapters will automatically be cancelled. (Quests received from notice boards are ok, they will remain, though escort quests tend to disappear own their own after some time.) |
Wtf.. I hate when they do things this..What's worse you can get to Soren really early and it doesn't look like a major story progression or anything..

Grinded up to level 10 on bandits, wolves and goblins and have started to get some actual equipment although traders this early don't really have anything too great it seems, still I should be mostly ready to explore the actual game now.
(Needed to try and learn various combat mechanics, pawns and how they work and their various abilities and preferences plus a lot more, also found a lot of random loot and hidden chests though in doing this it seems my current pawns have been taught to loot and pillage as I can't even enter houses in towns anymore before they start breaking boxes and picking up everything that isn't nailed down, hopefully that doesn't affect that reputation thing too badly. )
EDIT: Oh and I think I'm starting to understand why they added a mute option for pawns, it is pretty neat to hear about enemies, locations, quests, random anything but it's repeated near endlessly so no wonder people tire of it.
(Pawns are weird though, can't do nearly anything unless guided by a "Arisen" or being told to do stuff, probably can't even shit without being told though I guess the sex industry is profiting on them since they obey anything they're told... )

This game receives so much praise, but there are no main quest, at least its not indicated anyone for me, so I know nothing that I should be doing, some random quests here and there if you manage to accidentally find where kill xxx is located.
No level indication whatsoever, I somehow ended up in end game dungeon at lvl 5.. after clearing first level after multiple deaths and failures, and doing second level realizing that this is freaking impossible I decided to google. most people suggest going there at lvl 50 with endgame gear.. great stuff. SO I got bunch off levels, some decent gear and hauled my ass off into open world, doing god knows what. At first it was easy, 2 shotting everything in sight, then endless bands of bandits started giving me trouble as they one shot my pawns, which I realized doesnt even level up apart one you create. And even with fancy end game armour they can 2 shot me by swarming my ass.
Then there is death, and save save save save save kind of gameplay, saving takes ages and there isnt even save keybind.. clusterfuck if you ask me. I still dont know what's t he point of anything I am doing, exploring? there is nothing to explore, I havent found single useable item outside of that endgame dungeon. Exp? pawns doesnt level, and getting few levels yourself barely does shit.

There is no real indication menu-wise about which quests are part of the main story line, but rule of thumb is that everything associated with the Duke (quests given by Ser Maximillan, quests given by Aldous), and quests obviously related to the Dragon and to the Arisen are part of the main quest.

That there should be "BBI" or Bitter-Black-Isle which is the expansion content meant to take place after the main game itself, but yeah I don't think you're told much about it in-game and instead very early on you'll get a optional quest that takes you there from the starting village and you'll probably die over and over again if you try to head there immediately.
EDIT: As for pawns I believe one of the tutorials or maybe the pawn creation quest / tutorial itself tells you that you only really control your own character and your main pawn, for the others you have to regularly interact with the "runestone" type objects and exchange your "lesser" pawns with higher-level ones as they become available.
(I think it's tied primarily to your own level, oh and in online mode you can hire other players pawns and they can hire yours.)
EDIT: Capcom default pawns at your own level seems to be free, otherwise they appear to use a rift currency which you acquire from well I don't really know so far, I've mostly gotten small amounts of it from questing.

Hang in there brother, i remember hating the game at first thinking its one more generic rpg and taking a good chunk of hours before starting to actually enjoy it. Its one of those rare games that the more you play the better it gets imo
