TPP gameplay greatness stands in the possibilities that the game's mechanics allow. You can approach every situation in so many different ways that makes replaying a mission a joy not a burden. Everything is fluent, the diversity is awesome and the mechanics have an actual logic behind them.
Saying that the gameplay is bad because you have to fulton stuff all the time can be taken as a general statement for almost all the games. Most of the games have a grinding to them that many might not notice. Take Far Cry for example where you have to watch the skin animation for each animal killed and skinned. The Witcher 3 looting works on the same principle.
The fultoning it's actually a choice, its base purpose is to help with some objectives, its extended purpose steps into grinding territory designed for completists. It's not something mandatory.

I can go on and on why the gameplay in TPP is so good, but this video sums it up so much better and it even misses on some great things:

contrary to this reviewer one of the things i hated was how easy it was. S-rank and mission objectives were a joke (although the buggy convos were definitely the worst)

Where this game absolutely shines is the substenance missions (all 2 of them! Sad )

having to go in with no stealth, no tranq, loud footsteps and nothing but your dick in your hand leads to some really fun stuff.

Like you normally have to hit an outpost just to get a weapon but since the weapon isnt silenced and has low ammo you cant really even use it, its just backup for when the shit hits the fan. And if a heli or tank comes you're in real trouble because you dont have rockets.

I think that shows how great the gameplay can be, but playing through normally its just a joke

SUBSISTENCE missions. These are missions where you go in without equipment and are forced to get it from enemies.

There's a mod now though, where you can drop guns via script. So you could theoretically go in without gear in all missions.

Aww yiss! This should be interesting since I never play with those cardboard boxes and reflex mode. Both feel like cheating.

Yes, but seems to have taken a hit and delay with the LA studio being closed last year.

Yeah well happens if you fire most devs working on a project i fully expect them to close the servers next year anyway, so i won't even bother playing it.

I don't think Konami have many tears at this point. They are going to milk the MGS franchise until it is a dry withered corpse. I'm pretty sure that picture should actually be a Konami exec drinking from a Kojima's tears cup.

So some guy found a way to exploit free MB coins through MGO beta, and Konami just shut the whole thing down.. deleting the whole 3.7 GB MGO client from your hard drive through a patch, and postponing it until a hotfix.

As long as you didn't download the update it completely removes the client.

Was still thinking of buying this game for the online mode.
Not gonna give those retards a single penny now. Laughing
I can't imagine how crappy it will run after such an action and which kind of support to expect.
