I've been following this for over a year now, because I also like the somewhat laid back underwater survival theme. And I like this graphics style very much, it looks pretty polished in general.

How playable is it now? Is it worth giving a go?

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

So are you just building a base underwater or is there something else to do?

I'm just waiting for the game to stabilize a bit before continuing with it, trying it now and again in short sessions but there's so much still left for them to do going by that progress tracker they are using and the game is updated usually 2 - 3 times every day and has been since it arrived on early access come to think of it. Very Happy
(EDIT: Turns out I switched to the test branch at some point and that's why it's updating so often, seems they've relaxed updates on the normal channel but in turn this one gets new builds almost multiple times every day.)

EDIT: This roadmap.
https://trello.com/b/yxoJrFgP/subnautica
(No I don't know why Spykez is there.)

(I do like how effective they are though, some games in Kickstarter getting stuck for years with minimal development progress whereas here they are going at it pretty rapidly though there's still a lot left to do before the game is finished.)

Yeah, it updates around 6 times per day on test branch. I know, I'm forever updating the builds on RIN Laughing

I played it for an hour or so and liked it a lot. So I stopped playing, waiting for the full release instead...

I bet this game will play very nice with a VR-device.

Also any news yet when it will leave EA?

IIRC they said they want to reach 1.0 this year. No idea if they promised something similar before and ended up pushing it up, so take it with a grain of salt.

No idea. I binged a lot since I bought it a few months ago, and right now I'm burned out on it. But I don't recall Steam downloading anything big for it since I stopped, so I doubt they did anything major.

Ok, thanks.

What stopped me playing it was this huge need of batteries/powercells once you got to travel far distances.
Now I had to restart because my save was too old and didn't see any recharge station blueprints so far ^^

Heh...the same day I write this, they drop a 800MB patch on the game. Razz

Doubt I'll check it out, but it looks good from what I've seen (no mention of the battery recharge station tho).

Looks cool, kicking myself in the ass for not buying during the steam sale.

Trying to find it cheaper now, g2a has it for $14 but I don't trust them.....

Should be a bit cheaper at the other store. Worth the money though.

Worth the money? This game will never be finished. Last time i'm going to buy a early access game.
