Maximum abuse will be to send letter to the victim's address/email, asking him/her to add a few more bucks to the bank account so you can take one more extra game Cool Face

From what I understand accounts themselves were not themselves compromised - no one would be able to do anything or take advantage of your account directly in Steam.

However some data was exposed from those account info pages... With your name, address, phone and a few digits of your CC, some more resourceful people could get the rest of payment information from other places via social engineering and the like.
Although it's shitty enough to have your info leak like that even without CC details.

even if somebumps into your account -> he cant pay with your paypal cause he doesnt know your password. maybe different if you put your bank account or credit card in steam, but with paypal nothing can happen unless someone knows your password

nothing can happen with that bug. just logged in and everything is fine

Ah, I see thanks, that's somewhat reassuring. It definitely still sucks though, there are already so many potential problems with security breaches by default, and they come up with such a of colossal fuckup. Silly pears :<

The worse is that some people save the credit cards info on their Steam account. Again chances of fraud are slim as the 3-digit number is not visible but the combination of personal info and credit card info could lead to other problems.

Meh, I save my CC info on Steam. What you need to do is set a daily limit on internet transactions on your bank account. Mine is set to 300 PLN/day (70 EUR) for internet transactions. At worst, if my Steam account would have been compromised, they'd get that. I check my account daily so I would figure it out before they could do anything.

Also steam only shows last 2 numbers of CC.

Yes indeed, but you have secured your CC with an alternative way in your own bank account. You're the exception.
My point is that there is no reason to spread your private data in all over the Internet. Don't forget it's not only the CC fraud (which ofc is quite difficult to be achieved) but the possibility of other kind abuses/threats.

For one, putting your real information in your profile is hardly the most reckless thing one can do, considering that it's just your name and country and Steam is not that shady of a place Razz

Second, info got leaked from the billing information pages, where you need to provide legit info to be able to pay - that is how credit cards work.

Third, while I am also reluctant to store my CC details on-site, with Steam, where you are likely to make numerous purchases (especially during sales) entering all the data every time you buy something can be a chore, so it's understandable that some people would choose that option.

Been searching a bit and it doesn't seem like there's a way to do this (yet) but I might as well ask, can you add custom sorting options to Steam to i.e sort games by release date or year?

I guess at worst I could always just add categories from 1990 to 2016 and do it manually but if there's a better way that would be ideal.

Seems to be a heavily requested feature too going by what I found on the Steam forums so hopefully it will be implemented eventually.

I made a filter in my Gmail account for that: Delete every email that has "You have sold an item on the Community Market" in the subject.

Seriously. First yesterday that massive fuckup, and today again problems for several hours so far.
Retarded company should invest at least some money in their server structure.
