Me and my friends just created a wireless lan between us (had-oc) and we can, with no problems what so ever, share files and ping each others laptops. We also have already played FEAR and quake 4 throught that wireless lan, however, we can't play need for speed most wanted, anyone has a clue on why?

I try to create a game and it says "connecting" for a while but in the end nothing is created, can't understand why. When I got home, I connected my laptop to my router, which is wired, and I was able to create games in need for speed.

Maybe, most wanted is incompatible with wireless lans for some reason?

If anyone can try it and figure it out a solution for wireless lan play, or any thoughts about what the problem might be, it would be nice.

Same problem.

Cross over cable, Hamachi, on the same router ( wired ). Doesn't work. The game can be found, but can't connect to it.

There are a few posts about it on the EA forum, but no reply's there either.
I have heard of noone who has the game that it worked so .. No idea.

"EA magic" as far as it concerns me.

I don't think you need Hamachi for lan play, that's only to play throught the internet. But I was able to create a game with wired lan, maybe I'll try and install the game on my other pc and really test it if I can play or not...

For those willing to play it with Hamachi

- Connect to Hamachi
- Put the Hamachi IP in server.cfg
- Disable your NIC ( Not the Hamachi one )
- start the game
- Enable your NIC again
- Reconnect Hamachi

play

That's the way we got it to work.

so there must be something wrong with the game... I don't have a router, as I stated before, we are playing through and had-oc connection and if I can play other games like that, I should be able to play nfsmw I guess... but I'm not able to for some reason.

A router is a must or else you cannot link the network correctly..
And Hamschi is not a good idea i think. just for filesharing i think Smile

BUT:
a Router is a must as i stated or else networking wont work Sad

Ad-hoc is is only used when there is not a router in sight!

Acess point is what i am on myself, and i think you must get urself a router..
