Hi All,

I have downloaded a few avi movies (DivX, Xvid) and a they play with no voice but they do have music and soundeffects. All my other movies play fine...

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

if its an avi file and there is sound but voice is missing than thats just the way it is, nothing you can do about it.
there is only one audio track in an avi file, the fact that you re actually getting sound means that its played fine.
but of course maybe the voice track is just too silent.
are you sure its not an old charlie chaplin movie? Wink

its most likely because it is using the ac3 codec and the voice comes out of the centre speaker only but he has his centre speaker set to play whatever comes out the front speakers so the centre speaker is actually doing something in games/movies that dont have 5.1 sound.

if you have 5.1 speakers there its probably a button on your centre speaker that you need to push to turn the thing off ,on logitech speakers its called "matrix" on other brands it may be called something else.

Yes, i think it's got to do with the settings of the speakers (the decoder and the amount of speakers - i use only 2.1). I will try that when i get home.

Thanks for all the help!

This definitely sounds like a AC3 problem. Install AC3 codec and everything should be working fine.

Yes it does, head over to www.doom9.org and look for the AC3 filter download.
