i'm looking for a good pair of in-ears... but even after doing some homework on it, the market is, well too fucking huge Laughing

models i've enjoyed before (and managed to break because everyday use/drunk/stupid):
Sony MDR-EX650APT
Denon AH-C560R

both in the 70€ range, bit heavy on bass (which is ok imo since the music i listen to is around 60-70% electronic and in other cases EQ is a quick remedy). i basically want something similar, maybe better, price limit is around 100€.

current favorites:
Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear (also pretty pimp looks)
Shure Se215 (yay, detachable cables!)

both are similar to my previous buds, albeit a bit pricier, but also apparently providing better sound. i'm aware though that i'm paying for brands in both cases, so the question is...any recommendations for similar headphones, especially from lesser known brands with a better price-performance ratio?

they look good after some googling, but apart from not being available anywhere (for some reason they're the only ones being phased out from the sennheiser lineup), noise isolation is a two edged sword since i mostly use them for my way to work and drivers here have shit for brains, while music alone is usually enough for blocking out muppets sitting next to me in the subway.
also, while i don't want neutral, but "fun" (not the lol wut but the good kind of fun) headphones, they may be a bit too bass-heavy/punchy for my taste.

best below 50 euro: Soundmagic E10
best below 100 euro: Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear

used both, compared to plenty other sennheiser ones like cx 300, 400 etc. and found both of these to be a step above when it comes to fidelity.

whatever you do, dont listen to anyone recommending you those beats pieces of shit, they sound good only to people who ve never used anything except for shitty standard icrap headphones.

just go get the momentums. Smile

Xiamoi Piston 3

Seriously, those fuckers cost ~20€ and have unbeaten sound quality in that price region.
Great sound at all tones and several different earpieces are included.
You just must be careful where you buy them, as several fakes are sold at unserious palces.

just saw the momentums are priced at 77€ now, plus pretty much every review didn't have any real bad things to say about them.

and i avoid beats like the plague anyway. still can't comprehend why especially at this price point they don't put in the least bit effort and just put in some sort of cheap, but still good drivers like xiaomi. as for the latter, i considered them, but actually buying them is a pain in the ass, also the warranty is probably a bitch, while the sennheisers have 2 years on them (buying a 2nd pair of xiaomis = pretty much 1x sennheisers + warranty) AND bling equal to beats. time to pull the trigger on them.

Whatever you do, don't listen to anyone who hasn't even tried them, and think that spending lots of cash on a pair makes them sound better.

The Xiamoi Piston 3, plus the one I linked above, are superb, and for less than $20, one has nothing to lose by trying them Wink

I'd always bet on Sennheiser. I got CX300-II and a pair of older over-ear HD250 (which I want to replace with over-ear Momentums). Sennheiser been doing professional audio stuff for ages.

got the sennheiser momentums today and dear god, they are awesome, 77€ well spent. i've had expensive headphones before, but this is pretty much the optimum in terms of grown-up "fun" sound. the bass is smashing, but in a well-engineered and not overbearing way. soundstage is excellent, stuff like underworld's glam bucket (google it!) is almost demanding on one's brain to listen to. works for pretty much every genre, audiobooks/comedy stuff is also a joy to listen to. can't wait to play wipeout on the vita for 4 hours straight on the train ride to my parents next week Very Happy
and the best thing about them, you almost don't feel you're wearing earbuds.
solid 9,5/10.

If any of you are ever feeling experimental and want to try a new underdog brand that has amazing sound, check out Thinksound.

I've got their TS02 buds in cherry wood. I've had more expensive ones from Westone that barely lasted close to how long I've had these and they sound a whole shit load better.
