Anyone here still playing this? I've recently bought Taken King Legendary Edition for the PS4 and started playing with a friend. I'm wondering if there are any humpers around I could high five once in a while
Game itself is quite fun and rather addictive. The world isn't used as it should be, and I feel there's a lot of wasted potential in this regard, but the gameplay saves everything - it's fast-paced, challenging at times, and perfectly balanced between being somewhat tactical and just a mindless fun of blowing shit up and shooting stuff
Yes, indeed it is If the gameplay wasn't as freaking good, I'd probably get bored of it very fast. But I've gotta say it is damn good and I can see myself playing for quite a while.
Destiny is getting some economy updates over the next two months, Bungie says. You’ll be able to buy Weapon Parts for Glimmer soon; later, you’ll be able to trade in all that surplus Etheric Light and Wormspore for something TBD.
This is pretty goddamn cool. And refreshing too! I always thought Sparrow racing would be awesome. Interesting how it only a limited time event though.
Played a dozen races = uber boring, zero fun. Everybody rides the same bikes with the same characteristics and win is totally random. Another fail from Bungie and that's all we gonna see till fall 2016
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

Yeah same here, want to team up? i pm you with my psn details.
Bought 2x20 euro PSN credit for only €34. Pretty cheap then around €24 for D:TTK LE. But don't got space to install it on my PS4 500gb. Sometime later then when I finish some games first.. when I get more time.

Sure man, PM me I'm not online very often lately (juggling new work, new gf, incoming christmass and three tons of stuff to do ) but whenever I'm around I'll add you and we can do some strikes and stuff
Frank Ippolito and his team were asked by Sony to build a contest winner a full set of Titan armour from Destiny. After five weeks of work, they delivered the work in style.
Destiny’s next new event will be Valentine’s Day-themed. It’s called “Crimson Days” and it’ll be live for a week starting February 9, Bungie announced today. They’re also adding a new PVP mode: Crimson Doubles. No details yet.
Bungie are reportedly planning to release a Taken-King sized expansion for Destiny in 2016.
Industry expert Doug Creutz believes that the game's player base are not happy about the lack of new content, but predicts that Bungie will deliver the goods later this year.
He explained: "Destiny's player base is clearly getting restless for new content, particularly since this is the first time since the launch of the game in 2014 that more than a couple of months have gone by without having a clear roadmap as to what is in the near-term pipeline.
"A significant erosion of the game's player base would be a disappointment and a major missed opportunity.
"While we suspect most players would return for a 2017 Destiny 2, there are no guarantees in this business, particularly since we think many players felt there was an implicit guarantee of regular, meaningful content updates for the game.
"Our model assumes a Taken King-sized expansion for Destiny in 2016. We did think that Destiny 2 was a possible, and even likely, source of upside in 2016.
"However, as long as there is new Destiny content in 2016, we feel confident in our overall company growth assumptions and would remain bullish on the long-term value of the franchise." an effort to reduce lag. There will still be some consideration given to matching you with worthy adversaries, but that's a thing we’ve done since Destiny first shipped."
Meanwhile, Bungie have confirmed that a new update to matchmaking settings is now in play for Iron Banner and Skirmish.
A dev message revealed: "New matchmaking settings seen last week in Iron Banner are now live in Skirmish.
"Analysis continues before we apply them to more playlists."
This comes on the back of a promise from Bungie which vowed to allay the concerns of the Destiny community.
Community manager David Dague stated: "When we shipped Destiny: The Taken King, we delivered a new system to better enable us to evaluate Guardians as combatants. In the months that followed, we've been making adjustments to find the right balance between skill and connectivity.
"In light of recent feedback from the community, it's very clear that we have more work to do. As that work progresses, I'd also like to pledge that you'll be more included in that process.
"Lord Saladin's battle for the Spark will feature new matchmaking settings that will assign more emphasis to connection quality.
Bungie have also revealed that Harold Ryan has stepped down as studio President, with Pete Parsons now appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
And with Destiny's core model set to change, Parsons has told fans that Bungie will continue to reach for the high standards set by his predecessor.
Parsons noted: "I want to personally thank Harold for his friendship, passion, hard work and dedication in helping make Bungie the great company it is today.
"As a team, we celebrated many victories and weathered many storms.
'To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie's, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together.
"I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio's best work.
"My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise."
I might get a PS4 later this year to play some of dem Sony first party titles, and Destiny is one game I'm considering to purchase along with the console.
Can new players find other players to go through all the story content from Destiny+expansions, or is everyone way past it at this point?
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
You'll find players for strikes (Destiny's instances) without problems. Story missions you'll probably have to do alone, but they're not all that well designed for party-play anyway. Leveling goes pretty fast anyway, so it's not a big deal. Keep in mind, though, that aside from maybe Taken King expansion, the game's story is really underwhelming (and even the Taken King is just so-so - nothing to write home about). The potential was there in the setting, but it was being seriously wasted up until now. Gameplay's where the game truly shines.
You can find loot anywhere. In theory there are some pvp sets, but they aren't really better for pvp than other stuff - they're just different and require pvp reputation (which means doing a lot of pvp dailies/ bounties). Most of the loot you'll probably buy for marks which you'll get for daily/weekly quests. You can just gather them and then buy whatever you like - but you have to have faction rep. Exotic items (you can have two such pieces of gear - one armour piece and one of your three weapons - they have special abilities unnatainable otherwise) you can get either from a drop, or from a merchant who shows up every friday with a random inventory. There's a special currency you use for his shop, but it's also mostly from strikes/dailies. Destiny's pretty grind-heavy, so be ready for that.
