So... not the usual type of hardware stuff but....

Has anyone tried smartwatches / fitness bands?

I just ordered a 'FitBit Surge' from Amazon and I'm eager to try it out soon and it would be nice to hear other people's experiences with the wrist devices.

I considered a 'real' smartwatch also, but since I use mine mostly for gym stuff -> I need accurate HR monitoring and as far as I know, most of the smartwatches seem to use the metal bips which need to connect to skin to measure the HR. (I have a big problem with these, I cannot even use the HR monitor in bikes or crosstrainers as they somehow fail to measure me at all, unless I manage to keep my hands extremely still.)

The one I bought uses some bright led based thingy, which I hope works better.

So... that's that.

Oh I'm luckily past the 'starting' curve Smile

Been going to gym for a bit over a year now.

I had a HR monitor with a chest belt, but I hate wearing those. (lost it somewhere at some point Razz )
