from what im reading on these forums (impressions and those infographs) i think this might be the hitman to kill this franchise.

It aint a Hitman game if you take out all the story and jam in more missions, npc's and whatever.

A good Hitman game would be something that strikes a balance , not sacrificing atmosphere and story at the expense of MOAR levels, npc's whatever.

They went from one extreme to the other, wtf is happening at IO ?

Is it that fucking hard to take Blood Money as a base game, write a decent story with intrigue, and some new locations and some new GFX ?

I take it you haven't played the leak? Because none of what you said is true or makes sense for anyone that has.

The new hitman game is 10000000x closer to blood money then absolution was. If anything was going to kill the franchise, it would have been absolution.

The new hitman is almost everything you could want from a sequel to blood money.

Literally the only thing I can fault with the new hitman game is that doing some of methods of winning your objective seemed confusing or too difficult, this could simply be because its an alpha though.

Also a very stupid thing to say? Laughing

It has a chance of killing the game but when you consider that the game is very good its not going to kill the franchise.

You seem to be solely basing all of what you're saying on the fact that you like the game without considering any meaningful factors.

From the outside, it looks like an Absolution/Blood Money hybrid. That right there is subjective as it's not completely one or the other, nevermind the way they're quoting big numbers as if they give the game any real substance. Fans of the original 4 games won't have any confidence in their new offering because of how ridiculously bad Absolution was. To 'try it out', you need to pay money (direct quote). To participate in the beta you need to preorder it. Oh, and it's being released in pieces.

If that isn't enough to potentially kill a series, what the fuck is?

I gotta say i'm one of those that won't even consider buying it cause of the business model. If the company isn't confident enough to release a full product, why would i be confident enough to pay full price? Why would i be dumb enough to play an extended beta for 35$?

I just wish Jesper Kyd would compose for Hitman again. He seems to be working exclusively for Gearbox these days. He's not in post-ACR Assassin's Creed either.

Reminds me of Wolfenstein but I guess it could be any old castle (Or secret lab?) connected to a mountain lift.

Play the beginning. The HITMAN Beta is set twenty years in the past at a top-secret ICA recruitment and training facility. This extremely unique mission revolves around how Agent 47 was recruited into the ICA and shows the first time that 47 meets his long-time handler, Diana Burnwood.

The HITMAN Beta is available on February 12th for PlayStation 4 and PC a week later on February 19th. Pre-order the game to guarantee access.

I genuinely dislike both their business model and the pre-hurrdurr frenzy, but I've got to admit that at least they're nailing the Hitman atmosphere. Razz No nuns armed with RPGs so far!

"If" they manage to keep a decent quality in terms of level design throughout all the maps - the one from the alpha was good/big enough, and the Sapienza one seems nice as well from the video - then maybe there's really hope (without shaving Lenny) xD

Why is PC platform getting the beta a week later than that wannabe PC in a box, PS4?

It's not like Hitman started on PC...oh yes it did!

I hate this backhanded moneyhatting console crap.

I guess he's trying to blend in in that first image but the silencer kinda ruins it, not exactly standard equipment for a airforce trooper I'd imagine. Very Happy

As a huge fanboy of the greatest stealth game ever done, Hitman Absolution, I find these graphics very bad and immersion-breaking. Where are the lens flares and shiny baldness effects?! Mad Guess this is going to be a flop. Hopefully with the one after this they'll go back to the roots, Absolution was way better!

Imho absolution was a great game! I know I'm in the minority with this, but I enjoyed it a lot. On hardest difficulty it is no cakewalk.
