I think I am getting too old for these kind of games. Cannot get past the first boss, tried 20 times or so, even with several walkthroughs on the internet I am hopeless... Sad

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2015/09/15/bloodborne-expansion-announced

Quote:
It’s called The Old Hunters, and it will be out on November 24. Priced at £11.99, the expansion will include new outfits, weapons, and enemies—here’s what the PS Blog has to say about it:

Set in a nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever, explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts to overcome. You’ll find multiple new outfits and weapons to add to your arsenal as well as additional magic to wield and add more variety to your combat strategy.

With new story details, learn the tale of hunters who once made Yharnam their hunting grounds, meet new NPCs, and discover another side of the history and world of Bloodborne. Here’s a brief glimpse of just some of what lies in store for you when The Old Hunters launches on November 24th, including Simon’s Bowblade weapon, and new boss enemy Ludwig.

Spent the last 5 hours playing Bloodborne having not played it for about 3 months. Took me while to get back into it. I never finished the game yet but Ive made significant progress lol. I havent ventured into the DLC yet but Ive noticed you can summon a old hunter (NPC) for coop in areas of the main campaign and even the chalice dungeons. It makes things a bit easier but also more fun I thought. I seriously forgot how good this game was.

Took me roughly 10 hours to get through the DLC, though I'm still missing a boss I believe, and maybe some other secrets, so I'm looking forward to more playthroughs of it.

2 of the bosses gave me a really hard time, specifically the first and the last, but I played it without summons and on my NG+++ character at level 170 which inflates boss HP by a lot usually which makes them much harder to burst down.
Next I'll play it on a NG character at level 100 to see how difficult it is then.

+Interesting locations
+Great bosses
+Cool new weapons and armors
+Intriguing story
+Plenty of content
+Music

My GOTY 2015 just got even better.

Wow Surray you sound as hardcore as The_Zeel lol. Surprised he hasnt updated this thread yet.

I finally finished the game.

Question.

After the credits roll I wake up again and Im assuming NG+ automatically starts? Can I go back? Thats quite annoying as I now have to start over and play through a massive chunk of the game to access the DLC! Mad

Yeah I'm afraid you went on to NG+ and there's no going back.
You have to let the last boss sit there and wait for you until you're ready.
There's no rush with him as you can still go everywhere else while he's waiting for you.

Should be fine though.. you just beat the final boss so you must be pretty good at the game right now. NG+ start should be a breeze.

Kill Gascoigne (cleric beast is optional) > Buy the hunter's emblem for the gate (easy to get those 20k souls in NG+) > Open the gate (no need to kill Blood-Starved Beast) > Kill Vicar Amelia > Welcome to the DLC

If you still remember the path to Gascoigne it should be pretty fast
You can do it!

It is going to be harder in NG+, but I believe in you Smile
Just summon some confederates and cleanse these fouls streets of all the filth!

Wow that totally sucks lol.

So basically stick out NG+ and hope it's not too tough? Surely I can just keep levelling up? Not sure what the cap is if there is one but my character is only 107. I can also summon other players or one of The Old Hunters if need be! Very Happy

I guess another option is to restart the game from the very beginning but I don't like the sound of that lol.

Very cool encouraging and morale boosting response you gave me there lol. Smile

Yeah that's what I would do.
Personally I found NG+ very enjoyable because it's so different to do the earlier parts of the game with a character that has upgraded weapons and runes.

You also get so many blood echoes that you can buy all the blood vials and quicksilver bullets you'll ever need so you can just go nuts on the bosses without worrying about running out of resources.

Chalice dungeon progress is kept throughout new game cycles, so you can keep going there if you like, for better runes and blood gems if you need them.

I'm not the best player myself and fail often enough but I got this far so you will be able to as well.
You can summon me too btw, I got a character in your level range Wink
Can't promise I'll be any help though haha

I was wondering about the Chalice dungeons and didn't think they would be affected by NG+. I assume The Old Hunters added nothing more to the Chalice dungeons? Theres so much potential to improve and expand the Chalice dungeons with DLC that I hope it happens.

Yeah there's nothing new as far as I know. Quite unfortunate... I also thought it would be a great area to expand with some new content in the DLC.
With a semi-random system like that, extra content would increase the number of variations exponentially, greatly improving replayability of the kinda repetitive chalice dungeons.

Unfortunately there won't be more DLC so we're out of luck on that front Sad

"It was decided that with one set, we'd be able to do more with it, and have more volume for players to play with," Yamagiwa told Eurogamer. "As of right now, we have no plans for any more DLC."

Good old Havok ragdolls Razz

I had a similar situation a long time ago where a corpse of a werewolf like that was coming at me.. turns out there was a spider hiding below it, pushing around the corpse.
That shit scared me for a second lol

It was so weird.

Servers should be back up.

I loved the new areas of the DLC, and the new weapons, the lore, etc but the bosses were such a slog. So much hp and that Orphan was such a cunt. Made it much less enjoyable for me. I never farmed damage gems or anything and was only on NG+. 50 str and 50 arc and i still didnt do enough damage i felt.

Even as flawed as this expansion was, BB is definitely in my top 10 games of all time.
